Summer Time and The Living is Easy, but not always so Cool!!!

When the temperature climbs outside and it’s just to dog gone hot to stand it any more, why not take the kids and head to one of St. Louis, finest Swimming Pools.

These pools not only give everyone a chance to cool down for free, they also offer free swimming lessons. You can’t beat that with a stick. Children really need to learn how to swim in the event they are ever faced with some type of emergency situation where they need to swim or it could cost them their lives.

I feel like this is a rare opportunity to give our children a chance to have fun while learning life saving swimming lessons., as well as teachingthem how to stay safe in the water.

Swimming is also a great form of exercise for our children as well as ourselves.

The Department of Recreation Parks Division offers free swimming and free swimming lesson classes! Here is a list of pools for your swimming pleasure:

The indoor pools are open all year for your swimming or exercising pleasure. Rates for these pools are as follows: $2 for adults and $1 for youth under age 17. Passes are available for $10.00 a month or $30.00 a season, which runs through Aug 15. During summer months swimming is free.

The city’s swimming pools are open every day and you can enjoy free swimming lessons during the summer months.These pools also offer water aerobics, senior citizen events, lap swimming and certain times for adult only swimming. The schedule for these different events are posted at each pool site.

All swimmers must bring swim suits, towels, and soap. Goggles, masks and swim caps may be worn. Swimmers may wear a t-shirt over regular swim suits at outdoor pools. No floatation devices are allowed.
