For more than a year now, I have been purchasing, eating and reviewing many different Cafe W food products, which are sold at Walgreens Pharmacies across America. A couple of nights ago, I ate the new Walgreens Cafe W Woodland Chicken frozen dinner for the first time and I’m glad that I did so.

Several pleasing consistencies are offered in Walgreens Cafe W Woodland Chicken, when the item is cooked according to instructions. Firstly, the pieces of chicken are soft and tender and the mushrooms are a little bit firmer. The sweet potatoes are almost whipped, they are so nice and fluffy. The asparagus, carrots and green beans are slightly firm and not mushy. The overall mouth – feel offered by the various items in this dinner is quite satisfactory.

Taste / Flavor
There are several distinct flavors at play in this frozen entree. To begin with, the pieces of chicken and mushrooms are quite tasty, with a mildly seasoned flavor. The carrots and green beans taste fresh and real, but the asparagus maintains a minimal presence and the couple of small pieces I could find did taste good.
The mashed sweet potatoes in the Walgreens Cafe W Woodland Chicken are delicately seasoned and delicious. They are actually some of the best sweet potatoes I’ve ever eaten.
One of the main reasons I purchased this product is because of its marsala mushroom sauce. Although I do not drink alcohol, I love the flavor of wine in sauces, particularly marsala wine. Honestly, I don’t know exactly how to rate this marsala sauce. It does offer a pleasing, almost – elegant flavor, but I think if it was a little bit sweeter, it would taste even better. The overall flavors of this sauce and the entire dinner are very good. On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of nine.

This chicken dinner is packaged in an attractively designed, largely black and white cardboard box. The package is flat and stores easily in one’s freezer. Overall Rating
If you’re looking for a tasty, decidedly grownup frozen dinner, look no further than your local Walgreens Pharmacy. The Walgreens Cafe W Woodland Chicken is a bold step forward in Walgreens’ continuing efforts to expand upon its excellent Cafe W line of food products.
This dinner is the type of meal one would expect to find in an upscale restaurant and Walgreens is helping to raise the bar in frozen food quality, flavor and item choices. If your local Walgreens Pharmacy does not stock and sell this item, try asking the manager if it can be ordered. Walgreens Cafe W Woodland Chicken is a recommended item.
