Peanut butter is a staple in many households especially when children are present. A natural ingredient crushed and pulsed into a creamy paste is actually a very interesting food product.
Let’s start with the traditional sandwich. Two slices of white bread, a smear of jelly on one slice and a spread of peanut butter on the other. Slap these two together; cut in half or in quarters and most every child will be sitting down for lunch without an argument. Serve this sandwich with a glass of milk and a few slices of fruit on the side and they will be full with this east, fast, nutritious and energizing lunch meal.
If you’re baking cookies and cakes are fearful about the amount of butter used in the ingredients list there is a solution. Just replace the butter portion with peanut butter. The confection will take on a light peanut flavor that is sure to please. Try this also the next time fudge or brownies are on the agenda. It almost gives you the impression of eating those Reese’s peanut butter cup candies.
Any time fish is fried it leaves a strong scent lingering in the kitchen. This smell can be so strong that it travels throughout the house and seems forever before it dissipates. Air fresheners are good but sometimes make a worse smell when the two are combined. Take a few tablespoons of peanut butter and place them in a frying pan. Using a medium to low heat, fry the peanut butter. Soon the fishy smell will be gone and replaced by one everyone can tolerate better – peanut butter.
Peanut butter is the ultimate cure for removing gum. Whether it gets stuck in your hair on your clothing or stepped on into the carpeting those days of worry, stress and torture can now be behind you. Just rub some on over the gummed area and wipe with a clean cloth.
Every item we purchase has some sort of sticker, price tag or adhesive label attached. There are some that with a slow, steady hand can be removed easily and entirely with one motion. This is not the case always. In fact this is quite rare. What we usually get looks and feels a lot worse than when the tag was on. But who wants to announce how much you spent on a gift, glass, dish, bowl or plastic container. No one! What is worse is if that item was purchased at a dollar store. How embarrassing that would be! So grab the peanut butter jar and smear some over the glue or adhesive bonding, then rub off that mess that didn’t feel completely removed the first time with a clean cloth.
Note: Only use creamy peanut butter for steps 3,4, and 5
Medical alert: Nuts are an allergen to many – if you or someone is allergic to peanuts these are uses that should not be tried.
