Do you have a hard time getting going in the morning? Do you feel fatigued after a long day at work? Invest in one or more energizing essential oils that will stimulate your body through aromatherapy.
What are essential oils? They are simply extracts that come from nature’s own flowers, seeds, leaves, grasses, roots, fruits, barks, mosses, plants and trees. Since they come from sources in nature, essential oils are typically safe to use. Learn what types of oils you can use, and ways to use them for energizing your body.
Types of Essential Oils for Energizing the Body
There are several different essential oils and fragrances that will provide energizing benefits. These are just a few:
Play around with the fragrances and mix them together until you find a blend you enjoy. For example, try rosemary and basil together, or jasmine and grapefruit.
How to Use Essential Oils for More Energy
Aromatherapy is administered in various different ways to increase energy. Examples include:
~Indirect inhalation: Drop a few drops of the oils into a diffuser, or place them on an object (cotton ball, clean cloth, tissue) nearby. Keep several shallow dishes with oil on cotton balls around the house to keep it smelling fresh and energizing.
~Direct inhalation: Place drops on top of hot water in an inhaler. Make sure to get a doctor’s approval before trying this aromatherapy administration. It is typically used to treat sinus headaches, and not as an energizing method. Alternatively, you could carry a bottle of peppermint oil with you and smell it before an important meeting.
~Massage: Dilute the essential oils into a carrier oil (such as jojoba oil) and massage into the skin. Combine five to six drops of the essential oil for every teaspoon of unscented oil. Rub a small amount of the mixture onto your temples for a quick burst of energy.
~Direct contact: Apply the oils directly to the skin by combining them with bath salts, lotions or dressings. Try mixing five to six drops with a teaspoon of unscented lotion.
Essential oils can help stimulate and regulate the systems in your body. They help balance emotions through aromatherapy, or the practice of using oils and the sense of smell to enhance psychological and physical well-being. Feeling lethargic or fatigued? Try using essential oils to increase energy in your body.
