The British version of the hit singing competition “The X Factor” has brought the fans an inordinate amount of joy that, in all likelihood, directly correlates to the number of attractive men that have graced our television screens on that reality show. Here’s a countdown of the best of the best, brought to us by Simon Cowell’s smashing series.
10. John & Edward Grimes
The love-them-or-hate-them duo dubbed Jedward made waves on the sixth season of “The X Factor.” The blond boys from Dublin may not be as attractive as they think they are, but they are easy on the eyes, nevertheless.
9. Lloyd Daniels
The Welsh sweetheart warmed our spirits with his school-boy charm and side-swept bangs. Despite appearing in the bottom two on a variety of occasions leading up to his finish, the youngin’ actually took fifth place, testifying of his appeal with the female audiences throughout the United Kingdom.
8. Sean Smith of Same Difference
Louis Walsh wouldn’t understand, but Sean Smith is a bubblegum pop dreamboat. The smiling brunette lights up the stage, and the fourth season wouldn’t have been the same without him.
7. Shayne Ward
Taking home Season 2’s crown, Shayne Ward ticked all the boxes since a good voice plus good looks generally equals bankability. The Syco label isn’t the only thing to make out like a bandit from the deal — the audience has been pretty blessed, too.
6. The Boys of One Direction: Liam, Louis, Niall, Harry and Zayn
The judges-formed makeshift of a group may have come as a surprise to the boys, but the level-headed teens coped with the pressure and meshed together swimmingly. It kind of helps when each group member is super attractive.
5. Aiden Grimshaw
Grimshaw left the show far too early, depriving female fans everywhere of seeing their beloved Aiden week in and week out. But, when you look like that, things ought to turn out OK for the pop star from North Shore, Blackpool.
4. Matt Cardle
If someone were to have told us we’d fall in love with an Amy-Winehouse-covering painter from Essex, we may have doubted. Low and behold, we would’ve been wrong to do so. The singing sensation left us weak in our knees.
3. Joe McElderry
With his precious South Shields accent and humble-as-pie approach to life, we can’t quite decide if we want Joe to ask us out on a date or just let us pinch his cheeks like we were his dear old auntie, but the boyish charmer won over the pre-teen market just the same.
2. Leon Jackson
Who can forget Leon’s stunning and emotional audition, followed by his killer run ending in victory? The seemingly shy little tyke from Scotland came into his own, wooing women everywhere with his sultry voice and debonair appeal.
1. Olly Murs
Murs may have ceded Season 6’s crown to Joe McElderry, but Joe ain’t taking this title away from the lovable Olly. The effortlessly cool guy from Essex surely wakes up looking that good. Olly Murs, you, my friend, have what we like to call “The X Factor.”
