It’s weird. My entire life I’ve been a pretty naturally healthy guy, aside from smoking. Almost 22 years of existence and I rarely even get sick once a year. Why? Not sure. But I think it’s a pretty simple, but pretty huge reason. Up until I turned 20 years old, I had a pill phobia. I couldn’t swallow medicine, I’d always throw it up. Gross, but true. Then I got to thinking, here might lay your problem, keep in mind this is only a theory.
Your body, is constantly evolving, whether you realize it or not. If you get sick, your body learns from the sickness, and gains a sort of bigger immunity to that sickness everytime you encounter it. Think of it this way, your body is learning martial arts(funny, yes). Every lesson, you learn about a sickness, and every lesson you take, the more you learn, thus the better you are at defending yourself. Everyone is used to getting sick, or getting a headache, poppin a bunch of pills, and it makes you think the problem’s gone. Wrong. The medicine you take, is like learning martial arts from a monkey, terrible idea. Sure, you believe you feel better, but in all reality, it only numbs you, making you THINK you feel better, and weakens your immune system, making you more likely to get sick.
Think about this. I was hooked on cough medicine for a year and a half. It’s called Coricidin cough and cold medicine. You take ONE to “stop” the cold. Funny, because each pack contains EIGHTEEN pills. Who the hell plans on getting a cold eighteen times? Okay, consider this, say you live with mom, dad, perhaps a brother/sister or two. Sooo let’s say five people. Five people get a cold, five people take cough medicine, thirteen pills still left. Why? I believe, it’s addiction. Noone in their right mind gets a cold THAT MUCH that they need to keep thirteen pills handy. Most of the time, you get sick, see the medicine, and probably take two or three, rather than ONE, just to make sure you knock it out of the park. Wrong. You’re getting messed up, and don’t realize you’re still sick, it messes with your judgement. Comparable to alcohol. Drink a bunch, you think you’re absolutely fine to drive, then end up killing a family with a head on collission because your judgement was impaired. Medicine does the exact same.
All the reasons point toward, that’s right, abuse. Just like alcohol. So, constant headaches, weird weight issues, mood swings, loss of appetite, depression, these can all be explained by a combination of taking the wrong medicine, or medicine in general, eating the wrong foods, drinking the wrong drinks, it’s ridiculous. We live in a world that demands variety. Why do you think people are barely surviving past 50 years old? And the people who live up to 90, are only alive because they were born into the generation that didn’t know that much about medicine. Thus, they weren’t hooked on medicine while they were growing up, because medicine was scarcely studied back then.
Why is it, that we have the most medicines we’ve ever had, yet even MORE sickness? We’re not solving, or fixing the problem. We’re dragging it on. So, if I get a headache, I’m taking a nap. If I get sick, well, I won’t. Stop eating mcdonalds, stop eating buffalo wild wings, stop being lazy, and make your own damn food, save your damn life. You reeaally don’t want to know how low grade the food is, which most restaurants serve, and you reeaally don’t want to know what they put in it.
Moral of the story? Be a hippie. You’ll live longer.
