Somebody call Nevets Relyt or Refinnej Zepol of American Idol the bizarro world version. Infamous POGs and POGgettes were posturing like Tim Strawn just before he faces his long lost twin brother, Kid Shelleen in a gunfight. Shelleen beats Strawn to the draw in the comedic western Cat Ballou. Baby POGs, the name I attribute to Republican Congressmen and women, beat their chests like King Kong wannabes and acquiesced predominately along party lines by a tally of 234-190 for the ridiculous cut, cap, and balance bill. Cut, cap, and balance was wholeheartedly supported by tea party kooks, which indicates to me it was just another attempt to screw poor, middle-class, and despondent citizens without offering so much as a first kiss. This nit wit legislation would have also required a constitutional balanced budget amendment to be initiated by all fifty states.
The cut, cap, and balance bill was formulated to cut federal funding by $6 trillion dollars. Baby POGs took a huge swig of tea flavored moonshine, huddled, and voted against the better interest of 90% of the American people. That takes guts. I mean these folk strutted into chamber, closed their eyes and ears to public opinion, and voted for a bill that would decimate the middle class in less than a generation. Think about this for sixty seconds. Republican congressman and women, have now voted for legislation that would not only downgrade Medi-Care to a lottery game inside of twenty-years; but decimate Social Security, and end the middle class within this same time frame. And the worst thing is, Americans took the beat down with patience and trust. Or did they?
A recent poll suggests the POG are losing a public opinion battle of the stars. 71% of the population doesn’t particularily like the way the Republicans are taking care of business. Worst, 51% of Republican voters would prefer POG’s follow Al Green’s suggestion and back up that train. Still they fight on. With dwindling support. For outrageous policies. I’ve said it before. The overwhelming majority of Americans were born with two ears, two eyes, and one mouth. This was God’s plan. God intended for us to observe twice as long, and listen twice more, than we talk. Tea party kooks see it differently however. They look cross-eyed at a topic…never listen…and make nit wit decisions. Are these people so interested with reducing our national budget, they bypass the dire consequences?
Raising the national debt beyond $14.3 trillion is at stake, and lowering our future budgetary expenditures could well be the prize. But we are compelled to negotiate in a fair handed manner, because everybody who enjoys the freedom, and economic possibilities our republic offers must be willing to bite the bullet. We don’t need hotheaded gunfighters aching for a gunfight, we need calm heads and open minds. The POG has an opportunity to regain their GOP status. But it’s pertinent they free themselves from the leg irons and shackles that bind them to tea party fanatics.
Racist factions are comfortable in the tea party, and the tea party is comfortable with its racist support. Let’s not act like a bunch of naive school children shaking uncontrollably in our boots. There’s a bully on the playground, and we need to pull together, all of us, to eradicate the imminent danger. We live in a diverse, multi-cultural society unique to the world. If the haters can’t or won’t understand their surroundings, they can either adapt, or get out. That’s right, love it or leave it. Who are these people to spit on our flag, while simultaneously rallying around racism and ill will. Well now they feel snug as a bug on a rug. Republicans desperate about their impending situation are aiding and abetting this nonsense.
It’s time for the POGs to purge themselves of the chains that tie them to racist factions like pages to a letter. They know how to make this move, they just don’t have the intestinal fortitude to make the first step. All it requires is to believe wholeheartedly that America is home to everyone of its citizens. And demand all other citizens feel the same way. I understand the angst we feel about illegal entry into our nation, but again, don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.
POGs have been drinking so much hater-ade lately, they feel at peace with making life miserable for others. Americans, good Americans don’t drink from the same trough as tea party kooks. We consume our liquids from a sea of hope and tranquility. It really is the time to tell those full of ill will to either get onboard the love train, or find somewhere else to spit their venom. This is our country, and they can either love it…or leave it. The tide is turning on those Republicans who would rather remain quiet during an ideological lynching, than speak out against this devilish practice. And I for one will be riding this tide.
