Justin Gabriel is another incredible WWE Superstar that the WWE has obviously pushed in the wrong way. Since he made his television debut in 2010, he has been in 2 alliances, but he is now a singles wrestler. Gabriel has the look, and incredible in-ring ability, but he needs to work on one certain area in order to become a main-eventer in the future. This is the positives and negatives of Justin Gabriel.
Positives: It has always been a pleasure to watch Justin Gabriel do his thing in the ring. I really admire this guy and I can see why he may become popular as a face in the WWE very soon. There have been reports of Justin Gabriel becoming a face and it recently occurred on Smackdown. He recently defeated his former tag team partner Heath Slater in a match and Justin was impressive in the match.
You can’t deny his talent; he brings a new aspect to the WWE. Placing him in 2 alliances that failed to make an impact and it was a terrible idea from the creative team. Justin always seemed out outshine everyone in Nexus and Corre (except Wade Barrett).
Justin Gabriel has plenty of experience before ever coming to the WWE. He made his professional debut in 1997, at the age of sixteen. His father and grandfather were both wrestlers, and Justin was trained by his father. Justin wrestled in the United Kingdom and South Africa (his birthplace and hometown) for eight years before ever being signed by the WWE. Justin is also in incredible shape and he isn’t skinny like many other high flyers in wrestling. Gabriel is always stretching out his arms while he is making his way to the ring. He takes pride in what he does and I respect him for that.
Negatives: Justin Gabriel lacks the ability to cut a promo. I’m somewhat shocked because Justin Gabriel has been wrestling since the age of sixteen, and he still doesn’t know how to cut a promo. When you’re a wrestler in the WWE with no mic skills, more than likely you will be put into an alliance. Ezekiel Jackson, David Otunga, Heath Slater, Vladimir Koslov, Husky and many more. I could list many more wrestlers from the past and present, but I won’t go that far.
My whole point is that Justin Gabriel needs to obtain the ability to cut promos. For example, CM Punk is an incredible wrestler who can cuts the best promos in the wrestling. He takes pride in his craft just like Gabriel, but he can cut a promo at any given time. Justin Gabriel could become the next John Morrison in the WWE. Morrison can wrestle like hell, but can’t cut a promo to save his life. I would hate to see Justin end up like that.
In order to hit real success in the WWE, cutting promos is the most vital thing. Just ask John Cena and The Miz, they can cut decent promos, but they can’t wrestle to save their life. If Justin Gabriel can develop some charisma, then he should be light years ahead of those guys in no time, because Gabriel can actually wrestle. That’s if the creative pushes him correctly.
