The Biggest Loser 11 has its 2-hour finale on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Sisters Hannah and Olivia are guaranteed spots, and the public will vote through either Irene or Jay to join the sisters in the final weigh-in for the season championship.
Irene and Jay fell below the yellow line in the Top 4, but the public voted to send one of them to the Top 3 and finale. If Jay happens to get through, he has a pretty good shot of upsetting both Olivia and Hannah because he has so much more weight to lose to get to his ideal number. The girls are already pretty close to their ideal weights, but Jay had probably a good 30 pounds to go at the time of the Top 4 weigh-in. And he is reasonably close to both Hannah and Olivia in terms of weight-loss percentage.
If Irene makes it through on the votes, I’d guess that she has a lesser chance of winning than Jay. While Irene is a hard worker, she is also getting close to her ideal weight. There’s only so much she can lose at this point, so the way her body reacts to that would determine what happens provided that she and the sisters put out the same level of effort to lose the remaining weight.
The at-home challenge also awards $100,000 to the eliminated contestant who has lost the highest percentage of weight. This is a tough one to call, as there are so many of these competitors to analyze. Right off the bat, I’d expect Arthur and Moses to have a good shot if they put out the effort. Rulon may also win this prize. However, I suspect that Rulon had a deal with the show to leave early to let someone else win the championship and become the Biggest Loser. That deal may also include tanking the final weigh-in if it appears he will win the at-home prize. In fact, Rulon did not show up at the finals. I may have missed it, but I didn’t hear them announce anything about it.
As the show starts, we get a recap of the season. We need to first find out whether Jay or Irene is voted into the finals. America voted to send only one through for a chance at the $250,000 Biggest Loser prize.
We see Jay. He has definitely lost way more weight since the taping of the Top 4. Irene then comes out looking awesome in a pink and black dress.
America picked Irene for the finals. We then get some words about the trainers. Jillian Michaels is leaving The Biggest Loser. She is quitting to work on other projects.
Here are most of the weigh-in numbers for the $100,000 at-home prize.

Now, we find out that Russian tennis star Anna Kournikova is going to replace Jillian Michaels as a trainer for the next season of The Biggest Loser. She still looks in great shape, but I’m not sure that her conversation skills (or lack thereof) are going to work on a show like this. Jillian is quite aggressive but clearly passionate about helping the contestants. We will see if Anna can bring that same passion.
Now, we get to the three Biggest Loser finalists.
Irene: 255 to 139 (lost 116 pounds) 45.49%
Hannah: 248 to 128 (lost 120 pounds) 48.39%
Olivia: 261 132 (lost 129 pounds)
And the winner of The Biggest Loser 11 is Olivia. She takes the championship and $250,000.
