With summer time quickly approaching, many parents are facing the predicament of what to do with their kids this summer while they work, or ways to entertain them that are both fun and educational and increase their social skills. If you’re one of these parents, then looking into a summer camp for your child may be a great option. Here’s 5 of the best in and around Salt Lake City that are sure to keep your kids happy, entertained, and learning this summer.
Musical Bridge Summer Camp – The Musical Bridge Summer Camp is put on by the awesome people at Imagination Place, which is a music, arts, crafts, and fun studio for kids. Musical Bridge teaches children about music through tone recognition, beginners level instrument instruction, rhythm activities and much more. The class sizes are small (with a 8:1 ratio) and they fill up fast, so advanced registration is recommended. Musical Bridge runs sessions all summer long for kids ages 4-7 years old and each camp runs for about 2 hours each day. So, it’s not ideal if you’re a working parent but if you’re a stay at home mom needing somewhere for your kids to go play and learn for a few hours while you get stuff done, this is perfect for you. It also may help ease the transition for kids entering in school in the fall to get used to being around teachers, in a classroom setting, making new friends, etc. Musical Bridge costs $125 per child (but each additional sibling after the first is only $100) and you can register or find out more information here.
Summer in the Village – Summer in the Village is ran by Kids Village, which is a school and activity center that provides year round camps and learning activities for kids. This year their Summer in the Village summer camp program features a variety of different classes you can sign your kids up for, depending on what their interests are. They have theme camps such as Amazing Animals, The Wild Wild West, Enchanted Kingdom, Under the Sea, and many more each with learning activities, arts and crafts, play time, and much more all centered around the theme. Summer in the Village has different sessions all summer long, and camp runs from 10:00am-2:00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The summer camp is designed for children ages 3-10 and advanced reservations are highly recommended- and cheaper! If you register in advance (before May 15th) it’s $75 per each camp you choose, but costs go up to $95 per camp after the 15th. Kids Village is located at 1641 North State Street in Orem and you can find more information about Summer in the Village here.
