Summer is here and hotter than ever! There will be lots of traveling and parties to go to, so let me inform you of some of the hottest rap and R&B albums that will be released this summer, 2011. I know you can’t wait to find out what artists will be dropping albums this summer, so let’s get started.
June 7th — June 14th
June is the beginning of summer, and it has already brought some hot new album releases for those who love rap and R&B. June 7th, Butch Cassidy’s album “First & Last” will be released, along with Big K.R.I.T’s new album “R4: The Prequel”. Also on June 7th, the highly anticipated Tech N9ne album was released titled “All 6s &7s”; this album features Lil Wayne, T-Pain, and B.O.B. That’s not all for this busy day in June, Ja Rule dropped his album “The Renaissance Project, and Sha Stumuli released the album “The Break Up Part 2: The Proposal”. Lastly, Hail Mary Mallon released her album “Are You Gonna Eat That?” Just in case you don’t know, Hail Mary Mallon, is a group made of Aesop Rock, Rob Sonic, and DJ Big Wiz.
Another busy release date in June was the 14th. Gorilla Zoe released his album “King Kong”, and Eminem and Royce Da 5’9″ release their new album “Bad Meets Evil — Hell: The Sequel”, featuring Mr. Porter, Bruno Mars, Havoc, and Sid Roams. Ziggy Marley released the album “Wild and Free”, and Ca$his released the album, “Euthanasia both on June 14th as well. Lastly, Random Axe released their album “Random Axe”. Random Axe is several different rappers, including: Sean Price, Guilty Simpson, and Black Milk.
June 21st — June 28th
Several artists had an album debut on June 21st. Grieves’ album “Together Apart, and T3’s (Slum Village’s) album “3iLLA both were released on this day. Also released on the 21st, were Blaq Poet’s album “Blaq Poet Society, Pitbull’s “Planet Pit” album, and DJ JS-1’s album “No One Cares”. R&B group Jagged Edge also released their album “The Remedy”. Co$$ released his album “Before I Awoke”, and Jill Scott released her album “The Light of the Sun” on this same day.
On June 28th Curren$y released his album “Weekend At Burnie’s”, and Pete Rock & Smif-n-Wessun released their album “Monumental”. The gorgeous Beyonce released her album “4”, and popular by demand Trae the Truth, released his album “Street King” also on June 28th. Another album dropped on this day, which was “Finally Famous” by Big Sean.
July 5th –July 12th
A couple of albums have already been released for July, which includes Vakill’s “Armor of God” album and Lloyd’s “King of Hearts” album, which were released on July 5th. There are still many more albums anticipated to be released this month, which includes N.B.S’s new album “The Smokefest”, which is said to drop on July 11th.
One day after that, on July 12th, there are several rap and R&B albums being released, including: Crooked I’s album “Planet C.O.B”, the hot Pimp C’s album”Still Pimpin”, and Cali Sag District’s “The Kickback. Also being released on this same day is Jon Connor’s album “Salvation”. Lastly, on this day, the R&B artist Brian McKnight has come back to bring us his album “Just Me”.
July 19th — July 26th
The famous DJ Khaled will be releasing his album on July 19th, titled “We the Best Forever”. Then on July 26th there are several hot releases including: Wu-Tang Clan’s “Legendary Weapons” album, Kelly Rowland’s “Here I Am” album, Dr. Dre’s “Detox” album, and Jay Rock’s album “Follow Me Home”. Also coming on July 26th is Kindred the Family Soul album “Love Has No Recession”, and Black Rob’s “Game Tested, Streets Approved” album.
The month of August also has several hot rap and R&B album releases. On August 2nd, Jay-Z & Kanye West are releasing their album “Watch the Throne”; with these two on an album together it is sure to be a hit. On August 9th, Royce Da 5’9″ releases his solo album “Success Is Certain”. Later on August 16th the highly ranked Slim Thug presents his album “Boss Hogg Outlawz — Serve and Collect Part 3 — Immahogg”.
On August 23rd, Game will be releasing his album called “The R.E.D. Album”. Also coming in August, is the highly anticipated album “The Carter IV” by Lil Wayne, which will be released on August 29th. Lastly, on August 30th, Ja Rule’s “Pain Is Love 2” album is said to be released, along with, Glasses Malone’s album “Beach Cruiser”.
Although August is the last month of the summer, it doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the year. Stay updated with these hot rap and R&B summer album releases.
