The buzz in the street is all about Shea Moisture products and how well they moisturize and add shine to dry, dull natural hair. Well, I couldn’t just take the street’s word. I just had to try these products out for myself. I caught the buy one get one free sell at Walgreens and was able to pick up the whole line of Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus hair products for $19.98. What a great buy!
The Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus product line includes the Curl Control Shampoo, Conditioning Curl and Style Milk, Curl Enhancing Smoothie and Hold and Shine Moisture Mist. The products are $9.99 each and can be purchased from Target or Walgreens. The Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus products are in opaque bottles with orange labeling, you can’t miss them in the hair product section of the store.
The Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Control Shampoo is a water-based shampoo and the ingredients include Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Silk Protein and Neem Oil to name a few. Don’t worry, the shampoo and all the other Shea Moisture products are free of parabans, sulfates and gluten and Shea Moisture products are not tested on animals. YAY! The Curl Control Shampoo gently cleanses, hydrates and detangles hair for bouncy and health curls. Just apply the shampoo (once or twice if necessary) to wet hair, gently massage and work the shampoo into a rich lather. The Curl Control Shampoo leaves the hair feeling moisturized and clean without that stripped feeling.
The Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Conditioning Curl and Style Milk detangles, conditions and defines natural curls all while restoring body and shine to the hair. The Conditioning Curl and Style Milk is a leave-in product that is applied sparingly to damp hair. Dispense a dime-size amount of the Conditioning Curl and Style Milk into the palm, rub hands together and distribute evenly throughout the hair and then detangle. The Conditioning Curl and Style Milk provides great slip and ease during detangling. Avoid applying the Conditioning Curl and Style Milk directly to the roots of the hair and don’t rinse the product out, continue on with the other Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus products.
The Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie is an all natural hair dressing that hydrates and gives shine and bounce to curls. Simply dispense a dime-size amount of Curl Enhancing Smoothie into the palm and distribute evenly throughout the hair. Separate the hair and either braid or twist for a braid-out or twist-out or let hair air dry for a wash and go. The Curl Enhancing Smoothie can also be used as a deep conditioner. As a deep conditioner, apply the Curl Enhancing Smoothie evenly to wet hair. After fifteen minutes, rinse the Curl Enhancing Smoothie from the hair and style.
The Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Hold and Shine Moisture Mist gives a glossy shine and adds hydration all while providing hold to the hair. On damp hair, liberally spray the Hold and Shine Moisture Mist from roots to ends of hair and use a wide-tooth comb to distribute mist evenly through-out hair, then style the hair. On dry hair, use the Hold and Shine Moisture Mist to freshen and bring old hairstyles back to life. The Hold and Shine Moisture Mist is a water-based product and could revert braid-outs and twist-outs back to their naturally curly state.
By the way, all the Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus products have a strong coconut smell when they are being applied but the smell soon dissipates after application. Just in case you don’t like the smell of coconut.
This is an overview of the four Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus products that are sold at Target and Walgreens. I hope this information will help you make an informed decision in your purchase of Shea Moisture products.
