You may not be aware of it but the month of May has been declared Zombie Awareness Month by the Zombie Research Society. Created in 2007 the Zombie Research Society is dedicated to raising the level of zombie scholarship in the Arts and Sciences through greater awareness and debate about zombies. Society members believe we will soon be faced with a pandemic of zombies. During the month of May the society sponsors Zombie Awareness activities across the globe and offers zombie related products to help spread the word. To raise public awareness of the threat posed by zombies supporters of Zombie Awareness month are asked to wear grey ribbons during the month of May. The grey ribbon is used to represent the grey shadows that lurk just beyond the sunlight. You can make your own ribbon or purchase one online from the Zombie Research Society.
Join The Zombie Research Society
Joining the Zombie ResearchSociety (ZRS) is a great way to show your support during Zombie Awareness Month. Members of the Society receive a lifetime membership to all Society activities, a laminated identification card, an official ZRS t-shirt, eligibility to join a local ZRS chapter or start your own and a 20 percent discount on ZRS merchandise. Watch Zombie Movies
A great way to familiarize yourself with zombies and their habits during Zombie Awareness month is to watch zombie movies. George Romero’s black and white classic Night of the Living Dead is probably one of the best of the zombie movies and a great way to start your zombie education. If you’re looking for a more modern take on zombies you might want to watch either 28 Days or Resident Evil. If all the talk of zombies has got you down in dumps and you need a laugh try Zombieland or the 80’s classic Return of the Living Dead to get your spirits up and prepared to do battle with the undead.

Purchasing the latest in zombie themed merchandise and proudly wearing or displaying it is a great way to draw attention to zombies and the effect they could have on society if they begin to run amok.
