According to new online report, The Randy Orton vs. Christian feud is supposed to continue all the way to the Night Of Champions PPV in September. That is the current arrangement that the WWE creative team has in mind. If that does occur, then it will be the fifth straight PPV that Christian and Orton have faced each other.
First, Christian defended his title on Smackdown against Randy Orton and lost his World Title to Orton. Then, Christian lost against Randy Orton at Over The Limit. After that, Orton retained against Christian at Capital Punishment. At Money In The Bank, Christian won the World Title back by the way of disqualification. On August 14, 2011 at Summerslam, their match will be a No Holds Barred Match for the World Title. And at Night Of Champions in September, they may face each once again.
This feud had the potential to be legendary, but after this feud is over, many people wont a give damn. The first mistake was the creative team making Christian dropping the World Title five days after he won it at Extreme Rules for the first time ever in his career. The next mistake was Randy Orton should have become a heel during this rivalry. Orton drew so much heat after he defeated Christian for the title on Smackdown. That would have been the perfect time for Orton to become a heel.
The feud between Christian is lackluster, now online rumors suggest that it will continue in September? I am happy that Christian has become the World Champion again, but I don’t want to see Christian and Randy Orton face either again for a long time. As I’ve said before in previous articles, you give the WWE an inch and they will take a whole damn mile. For example, Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler faced other on Smackdown and at PPV’s countless times. Now they are both on the Raw roster, and the same thing has occurred over there.
What’s my whole point? The point is that once the WWE figures out that they have two wrestlers who know how to work great in the ring together, they make them face each other over and over again. Randy Orton and Christian both work well together and the WWE quickly noticed it, and they shove it down the fan’s throats. I watch WWE NXT, and Yoshi Tatsu and Tyson Kidd have faced each other over six times in a row. Kidd and Tatsu work well together, and the WWE is notorious for being repetitive.
That’s what made the Attitude Era different from this era; the storylines were so top notch that you couldn’t wait to see the PPV. I hope some creativity will find its way to the Randy Orton/Christian feud.
