Pride Weekend in Chicago is coming Friday, June 24th through Sunday, June 26th in Chicago’s Boystown neighborhood, in the Northeast corner of the Lakeview Community. Held annually on the last weekend in June, which is the nationally recognized Pride Month, the weekend concludes with the 42nd Annual Pride Parade, kicking off from the corner of W. Belmont and N. Halsted at noon on Sunday. If you’re looking to show off your pride, or show off your support, check this list of the must-do events happening all weekend long.
Friday, June 24th-Sunday, June 26th
Location: 5248 N. Clark, Cheetah Gym Parking Lot
Time: Friday (5-10pm), Saturday (3-10pm) Sunday (2-10pm)
Cost: $30 for a 3-day weekend pass, other pricing information available at their website.
The Details: In its 8th year, the Backlot Bash will be open Friday night to Adults 18+ while Saturday and Sunday are cut back to Adults 21+. Kicking off the weekend of events will be an acoustic set, at sunset, headlined by Folk music legend Catie Curtis. Saturday welcomes Afterglow, Dot Dot Dot, DJ Sandy Suave, and the stage will be hosted by Nikki from Chicago’s B96. Chicago Pride Fest, by Northalsted Business Alliance

Time: Saturday (4-10pm), Sunday (11am-10pm)

The Details: In its 9th year, Chicago Pride Fest is a great celebration for the LGBT Community that features two stages of musical acts and neighborhood entertainment. Lining up the stages on Friday will include 80’s cover band Sixteen Candles, along with Deborah Cox and Ultra Nate. Other entertainment includes two drag shows. Saturday brings you Wedding Banned, Mya, and Crystal Waters, but additionally the Windy City Cowboys and the annual Pet Parade. The Pet Parade begins at 12:30 with prizes awarded. Pride Run & Walk
Saturday, June 25th
Location: 4400 N. Montrose Ave
Time: Race begins at 8:04am
Cost: $35 to race on race day, $30 pre-registration
The Details: The 30th Annual Pride Run & Walk is an event open to anyone in the community, who wants to show their support for LGBT equality. Spectators are welcome, check out www.proudtorun.org for the course and more information.
Chicago’s 42nd Annual Pride Parade
Sunday, June 26th
Location: Step off from Halsted/Belmont
Time: Step off at 12:00noon
Cost: Free to the public
The Details: The 42nd Annual Pride Parade’s Grand Marshall is Fernanda Rocha, the first lesbian cast member on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” on the Bravo Network. Featuring 250 community organizations, businesses, performers, and supporters, the, the Pride Parade is one of the city’s most widely attended community parades. Street closures and parking restrictions start as early as 5am. The Youth Pride Zone will also be established for youth to attend the parade, at the Howard Brown/Broadway Youth Center (for more information check out www.howardbrown.org).
