Earlier this week, Paris Hilton sat down with Dan Harris of ABC News to discuss an array of topics. However when Harris insinuated that the socialite-turned-actress is now a ‘has been’, inquiring about her “celebrity moment” going downhill, Hilton got up from her chair and walked out on the interview.
Hilton is not the only celebrity to walk out on an interview. The following is a profile of five stars who have stormed out on a reporter.
In June 2011, Marc Anthony walked out of an interview after a reporter questioned him about a private home video of his wife, Jennifer Lopez, and her ex-husband Ojani Noa. Lopez and Noa, a man who is clinging to his 15 minutes of fame as if her were drowning and it was a life preserver, made a honeymoon video during their short lived marriage. After the demise of their relationship, there were various threats and close calls to sell the footage to the highest bidder. Lopez won a court order requiring that the video be locked in a safety deposit box to prevent it from being released or sold, however in May 2011, a court ruled that Noa can legally release the video.
Understandably touchy on the subject, Marc Anthony replied, “Next question,” when the reporter asked him about the video. After persistent questioning, Anthony finally called it quits on the interview and walked out.
Bow Wow and Omarion
Rapper turned actor Bow Wow and his buddy, R&B singer Omarion, stormed out of an interview in 2007 after feeling disrespected. The pair sat down with a journalist by the name of Toure, and they immediately felt the questions were rude and out of line. Toure taunted the celebs by inquiring whether Omarion stole his dance moves from Chris Brown, commenting on the small size of Bow Wow’s silver chain necklace, and he even yawned during the interview. Fed up, Bow Wow walked out on the interview, with Omarion following behind him. Luckily it turned out the interview was only a prank for a BET reality show a la “Punk’d”.
It’s no secret that many celebrities shy away from discussing their personal lives when sitting down for interviews to promote their new movies. In 2009, Robert Pattinson gave Ryan Seacrest a brief interview on the red carpet at the “New Moon” premiere. With only a few minutes to ask questions, Seacrest stayed on the topic of the movie for the majority of the super-short interview. However, when the “American Idol” host asked Pattinson whether he and his co-star, Kristen Stewart, were dating, Pattinson’s publicist whisked him away, preventing him from answering the question.
Russell Crowe’s reputation as a temperamental bad boy precedes him thanks to his many public outbursts. In 1999, the “Gladiator” star was involved in a bar-room brawl, and in 2005, he allegedly assaulted a hotel employee when the man could not assist him with placing a phone call.
In 2010, a reporter learned of Crowe’s short temper the hard way. While in Cannes promoting his new movie, “Robin Hood,” the Aussie actor was asked if his accent was Irish. As the journalist continued to ask about his accent, Crowe became annoyed, walking out on the interview.
Jon Gosselin, once the famous reality dad on “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” stormed out of an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” in 2009. Weeks after Gosselin’s ex-wife, Kate, filed for divorce, Jon announced he was dating Hailey Glassman, the daughter of Kate’s plastic surgeon. While he initially gushed about how happy he was to anyone who would listen, the couple began having problems, an issue to be expected with their quickie rebound relationships.
When the duo sat down to give the “Entertainment Tonight” interview about their relationship, things went sour when Glassman revealed that Gosselin cried when she tried to break up with him. The two bickered back and forth about their unhealthy relationship, and finally Gosselin walked away from the cameras and bailed on the interview.
