After sending Freakmamma a gift for her gallery that she has never seen she suggested that I write a few articles on code items for collectors. With more and more items entering Neopets ever day it can be hard to keep up especially if you ever take a hiatus. I love to give code items as gifts because there is something for every type of gallery and chances are your friend has never seen the item you plan on gifting. Plus for an added bonus code items nearly always go up in value and are very easy to snipe!
Neopets Spooky Code items
‘The Secret Life of Shadow Shoyru’ is a very rare book that was from a Series 7 Plushie item code. It is currently on my snipe list and is worth millions. The rest of the set includes ‘ Shadow Shoyru Action Figure’ , ‘ Shadow Shoyru Lipstick’, and ‘Burnt Shadow Shoyru Grilled Sandwich’. Side by side they look amazing in any dark and scary gallery.
People who love trick or treating will love the ‘Halloween Acara Plushie’. It is a nicely drawn item worth half a million neopoints. I was able to snipe mine for around 80,000 on the super shop wizard. Also look for ‘Halloween Acara Pencil Sharpener’, ‘ Halloween Acara Tales’, and ‘Halloween Acara Mug’ to complete the series 4 Acara series.
If Jubjubs are more your thing you can collect ‘Halloween JubJub Pumpkin Juice’, ‘ Halloween JubJub Powder Puff’, ‘Halloween JubJub Yoyo’, and a great book ‘The Many Adventures of Halloween JubJub’. If you find the book on the shop wizard grab it! It is priced at nearly a million Neopoints due to its wonderful seasonal value and one-time use status.
Also from series four you can find the Halloween Kacheek set. This includes ‘Halloween Kacheek Candy Dish’, ‘Halloween Kacheek Chocolate Lollypop’, ‘Halloween Kacheek Gum Blaster Toy’, and a really nifty ‘ Halloween Kacheek Lunch Box’.
In October of 2009 some really great spooky code items were released and the good news is many are still quite affordable! Look for ‘Mynci Halloween Action Figure’, ‘Mynci Halloween Candy Bucket’, ‘Illusen Halloween Binder’, and ‘the tasty ‘Usuki Ears Pudding’. If you read to your pets ‘Book of Usuki Pumpkin Carving’ may be just what you need to reach the top of the high score list. You can also find ‘Illusen Halloween Pumpkin Decoration’ for friends who love to decorate their neohomes!
2009 was a really great year for spooky code items. Also released for our pleasure were ‘Isca Pumpkin Pie’, ‘a wearable ‘ Isca Halloween Ghost on a String’, ‘Fyora Spider Cake’, ‘Draik Halloween Toy Box’, ‘Draik Halloween Backpack’, and ‘Miss Prissy Kacheek Halloween Tales’. Surprisingly ‘Fyora Halloween Mask’ was not made wearable for some reason and I found ‘Miss Prissy Kacheek Halloween Perfume’ a little too girly to be scary.
Around Halloween in 2010 Neopets released more dark and lovely items for collectors. ‘Fyoras Pumpkin Recipes’, ‘Halloween Defender’, ‘The Usuls Witching Halloween’, and ‘Draik Halloween Lollipop’ can all still be found buyable. Be prepared to throw down some serious coin for ‘Secret Acara Halloween Recipes’ and ‘Ylana Skyfire Saves Halloween’ which I have never seen buyable. Less of these were released because they were only available from Neocash cards purchased at Gamestop.
Right after this series was released Neopets came out with a large additional set for the season. The catch were that the items were horribly drawn. I mean terrible. Even though a great deal of them are cheap I still have not purchased them for my gallery. The less affronting pieces include ‘Acara Halloween Candy Bag’, ‘Scorchio Halloween Wand’, ‘Illusen Halloween Storage Box’ and ‘Usul Halloween Beverage’. The rest of them look like they were drawn on artist day off.
Some people may think that Dr. Sloth code items are more sci-fi then spooky. Normally I would agree save ’10th Birthday Evil Sloth Cupcake’ which is sure to glare at you when you eat it. ‘Dr Sloths Dungeon’, ‘Dr Sloth Exploding Gift’ and Dr Sloth Stone Statue would really round out your villain collection.
