Hey,hey, hey, it’s me, Miller again. How’d ya like South Beach. Everything I said it was? I know. I’m kinda of a genius that way. Well look folks, I’d be remissed if I didn’t mention all the fun things the family can do while in Florida. So moms and dads, get your rugrats and listen to ole’ Miller.
Florida’s west coastal beaches are open and waiting for ya’ll. Relax folks, I know, the oil spill catastrophe is still in the back of everyone’s minds. It was a terrible thing, but nowhere near the end of the world, although the media might have had you wondering. Despite the spill, Florida’s Gulf coast is coming back in a big way. Go check it out for yourselves. You will not be disappointed.
The beautiful white beaches, friendly and welcoming towns, and the reasonable affordability of the Gulf coast area makes this a great family vacation spot. Down on the southern coast, Naples has a children’s museum that sounds like a kid’s playground. Well, ya know, it almost is, as most everything is fully interactive and all touchy feely. You know kid’s, if they can’t reach out and touch, pinch, punch, twist, and pull on something, they’re just not gonna have a good time. I know I never do. Included is an art studio and gallery, a treehouse, and a virtual journey through the everglades. And since it just opened this year, it’s all brand spanking new! I can’t wait to get in the treehouse!
If you head north just a ways, you’ll hit Tampa. This ethnic diverse city has all sorts of stuff for the whole family to enjoy. Let me lay it out. First, there’s Busch Gardens. However, if your not into big crowds there’s an awesome aquarium with all kinds of aquatic critters, and friendly attendants ready to help and inform. Then there’s a zoo. I know, stop me now. But hang on fun family vacationeers. Because of the diverse ethnic background of the city there’s a huge assortment of foods from Cuba, the islands of the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and of course good ole’ American cuisine. Also, every year, the city of Tampa is invaded by pirates. These buccaneers come in on an authentic and fully rigged out pirate ship. Surrounded by a fleet of pleasure boats there to protect the city, a small engagement ensues with the pirates winning of course. Then, after these marauders come ashore and ‘capture’ the key to the city, they put on a full-scale parade. Dressed in their swashbuckiling regalia they march through the streets of Tampa. Hide your booty ya’ll! It’s a rip roaring good time for everyone. Hope ya’ll head down there and check it out. Have fun and vacation on!
