Top Rope Promotions and Pro Wrestling Supershow have announced their all star line-up for their July 29th Supershow in Fairhaven. The massive event takes place at The Seaport Inn and Marina. The Marina is located at 110 Middle Street in Fairhaven. The outdoor event will provide an atmosphere for wrestling like no other. The ring will be set up on a large leveled lot, right next to the volleyball sands. Chairs will be spread around ringside, and lights will shine down on the ring. The Seaport Inn and Marina will be supplying concessions, which include food, drinks and alcohol beverages for the adults.
The scheduled main event for the evening will see WWE Hall of Famer, Tito Santana, teaming up with New York stand out J Freddie. J Freddie made his return to Top Rope Promotions weeks ago at its annual Whaling City Festival events. Tito Santana is no stranger to tag matches, as he is a former two time WWE tag team wrestling champion. J Freddie, still a relative newcomer to the world of wrestling, is a former TRP Heavyweight Champion and the current 2CW Heavyweight Champion. Their opponents for the night will be the new tag team, The All Winners Club. Consisting of Ted Goodz and Isys Ephex, the two long time friends recently started teaming up. The two quickly started piling up wins throughout the northeast. The All Winners Club have already guaranteed victory over the older Santana and the young J Freddie.
Vinny Marseglia returns to Fairhaven for the first time in almost 18 months. For a while, Marseglia used to participate in comedy shows at the VFW in Fairhaven. Excited to show off his craft and proper wrestling technique, he faces the under rated Scott Reed. Reed is a well known fixture around the northeast, and has made several appearances for Ring of Honor and DragonGate USA. Coming off a recent win over “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett, Reed is now looking to capture Marseglia’s first ever championship, the TRP Interstate Championship. Vinny, who captured his first real wrestling title back in April 2011, is determined to keep the championship for a very long time. These two evenly matched competitors are expected to pull out all the stops to gain victory.
After fierce protest from Heavyweight Champion Tomasso Ciampa, Top Rope Promotions Commissioner Spike Dudley reluctantly gave the champion the night off from competition. However, his August 5th Summer Showdown challenger, Matt Taven, will be on hand and in action. Matt Taven has always had a soft spot for the lovely town of Fairhaven. When he was younger, Taven had friends in Fairhaven that he would play “pro wrestler” with on the weekends. Fast forward to the current day, and Taven has achieved so much in the pro wrestling business. Taven has traveled all over the northeast, wrestling in front of thousands of fans and knocking heads along side the likes of Bret Hart, The Hardy Boyz and Shawn Michaels. As for his friends that he used to “play pro wrestler” with, they still “play pro wrestler” on the weekends.
Wrestling’s only “Prodigy,” Mike Bennett, will also be on hand at Friday Night’s Pro Wrestling Supershow. The Carver, Massachusetts native will be taking on his former student, Matt Magnum. In the last few months, these two aggressive competitors have been tearing down every arena they’ve wrestled in. The young Magnum has a style very reminiscent of Eddie Edwards and The Dynamite Kid. Though smaller in stature, people would be crazy to ever classify this young man as a cruiserweight. This former Rhode Island State Amateur Wrestling stand-out has conquered many opponents since his pro wrestling debut in October 2009. His opponent, Ring of Honor wrestler Mike Bennett, on the other hand, is reminiscent of only one wrestler, and that’s Mike Bennett. Bennett has risen to the top of the wrestling world and has truly made himself stand out from the crowd. The young athlete actually got his start in pro wrestling in a nearby wrestling training center. The training center was called Slamtech in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Under the tutelage of Bob Evans, and later Steve Bradley and Spike Dudley, Bennett has paid his dues and is finally getting the spotlight he deserves. But can Magnum take that spotlight from Bennett on July 29th?
Pro Wrestling Supershow is a true believer in women’s rights and equal opportunity. Which is why the Supershow presents a women’s wrestling match between Barbie and Taeler Hendrix. In an era when wrestling company’s would rather keep women in bikini’s and swimsuits, our women are treated as true athletes, competitors and are given the time to show off their wrestling talent. Barbie has been on a path of destruction lately, tearing apart every woman in Top Rope. But she hasn’t faced a lady like Taeler Hendrix. Taeler Hendrix is extremely athletic and strong, and deserves more credit than she gets. This match will decide which lady is the best pure women’s wrestler.
The legendary Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake will be on hand in Fairhaven, Massachusetts on July 29th. Originally scheduled to wrestle on the Supershow, Beefcake recently got injured in a celebrity boxing match. Despite being replaced by Tito Santana in the match, Beefcake asked to be a part of the Supershow in some fashion. The promoters obliged, and Beefcake will be available for autographs and pictures at The Seaport Inn and Marina before the show and at intermission.
The ever controversial “G3” Gino Giovanni will also be on hand, for a very special installment of “The G-Spot.” Gino has been hinting around that his guest for that night is very familiar with the town of Fairhaven, and extremely familiar with the neighborhood. Gino Giovanni has kept his mouth shut as to who his guest is, but he guarantees his guest will be bringing a belt and a trash barrel to the ring with him.
All these matches, plus the Whaling City Wrecking Crew (Nick Steel and Vain), The Freakshow, Owen Graichen, Shane Alden, Marshal McNeil, Lukas Sharp, Grayson Alexander and Kevin Pierera will all be in action. Tickets available now.
