Is There Hope?
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NIV
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
In this hard time of economical turmoil and natural disasters, I had to find Bible verses to inspire me; we have problems with our finances, problems with our children, problems in our marriages, problems on the job and in all areas of our lives. We are looking for answers to solve problems we never dreamed of having. We are losing or know someone who is losing their home, car, and even their family. We have to sit sometimes and ask ourselves, what is going on? Has God forgotten about me? Is there a scripture or a word from God that I can hold on to? The answer is — yes. As the above scripture states, I just want to say that though we may think we are at the end of the rope, we are never at the end of hope. We may suffer, but God never abandons us. When ever we go through humiliations and trials these are opportunities for Christ to demonstrate his power and presence in and through us. In everything that we go through we can find inspirational Bible verses to comfort us.
Is It Possible To Solve These Problems?
St. Matthew 19:26 NIV
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. “
Because of the culture Jesus’ disciples were living in, they thought that if anyone could be saved it would be the rich man. So when Jesus told them that it was easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to be saved, they were shocked. They believed that if someone was rich, they had to be blessed. This Bible verse is so inspirational to me. Even so in our culture we think that for us to get a break in life we got to have the right connection and that comes by being rich. We think that if someone is rich they have power.
Well, I must tell you that I had a situation that I thought was impossible, but God solved it for me. I had to find an inspirational Bible verse for the problem that I was facing. I am not rich, have no power, but I am reminded that “it is not by might nor by power but by my spirit says the Lord.” Zechariah 4:6. One day I got a letter certified in the mail that I was being sued for over five-hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00), half of a million dollars, that is. And, to show how much of an obstacle I had to overcome, a judge had already ruled on behalf of the plaintiff and awarded the half-million. At that time I had to search for a Bible verse to inspire me.
I did not have that amount of money nor would I be able to pay that amount even if I had it. I was on my way to filing for bankruptcy when I found this inspirational Bible verse — “..With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26. At the time I was told by my lawyer that it may be impossible to get the verdict changed. I asked myself, am I going to just let this go or am I going to fight. Genesis 18:14 The Lord asked Abraham, “Is there anything too hard of the Lord?” After I read that scripture verse I made up in my mind that I was going to fight. It took four long years of praying and seeking God, before I got a letter stating that my entire matter has been dismissed due to prejudice.
With man this was impossible, but with God all things are made possible.
Did I make the right decision?
Roman 8:28 NIV
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
We are faced countless times questioning the decision that we had made, wondering if we had made the right one. It could be a minor decision on something like going to see a movie, or making a major decision on our career path, or the person we marry. When I left school I decided that I was not going to go straight to college. I decided that I was going to take a few years off and work. The fact that I did not start college right from high school allowed me the chance to meet my wife. I met a friend who invited me to take part in her wedding in Florida and the only reason why I met her was because I was not in school. I went to her wedding in Florida and met my wife. I always joked about it, but I know it was God.
This is such an inspirational Bible verse. No matter what we are going through, God works in all things — not just isolated incidents — and it is for our good. This does not mean that everything that happens to us is good, but no matter what happens to us or the decision we make in life whether it be good or bad, God is able to turn every circumstance around for our good.
Those who are “called” are those of us who the Holy Spirit convinces and enables to receive Jesus Christ. We have a new perspective, a new mindset on life. We learn to accept, not resent pain and persecution because we know that God is with us. I know that in all that we are going through, the disappointments, struggles, etc., no matter what happens to us, no matter where we are God will work things out for His good.
We will always face hardships in many forms: persecution, illness, imprisonment, even death of a loved one, but we can always find a Bible verse that will inspire us. I know that in all of these circumstances there are always many inspirational Bible verses to inspire us to remember that all things will work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose.
