I love to Knit although I wouldn’t say that I am good at it. I am also in love with the British hit television show Doctor Who. So a few months ago I went on a search throughout the internet to find the best Doctor Who knitting patterns. Here I have complied a list of my favorite patterns.
I started with trying out a few of the wash cloth patterns I found. I plan on trying them all but I keep getting distracted by my other projects. The first wash cloth pattern I tried was the iconic TARDIS. it actually turned out really cool. the pattern can be found here. Another pattern I really likes was the new Doctor Who logo wash cloth the pattern is here. This logo was for the newer series of Doctor Who. I also tried the David Tennant’s logo it also turned out pretty well although it turns out to be more Hand towel sized than Wash cloth Shaped. Doctor Who logo Wash Cloth pattern can be found here. Everyone’s heard about the “Bad Wolf” so why not knit it into a Wash Cloth? You can get the pattern here. Most people remember the advice “Don’t Blink” but for those who forget why not knit them a reminder in the form of a Washcloth BEFORE the Weeping Angels get them. Get the Don’t Blink wash cloth here. Continuing the trend in what I believe are the creepiest aliens in the universe this wash cloth depicts both the TARDIS and a Weeping Angel. The angels have the phone box get the pattern here. Last of thenotable wash cloths is, of course, the Dalek. This wash cloth depicts a Dalek the Doctors arch enemies. Exfoliate! here. Other cool Doctor Who wash cloths include Bow Ties are cool, and Vote Saxon, and Jelly Baby! The majority of these patterns were posted by holynarf on her website. She has many other awesome patterns on there as well.
There was one Doctor Who pattern that I found on my search that I absolutely HAD to make. This is a pattern for a TARDIS plushie. I completely fell in love with the idea of having a TARDIS to cuddle with and so I printed the chart and set our to make it and after a few months of working on it I finally have my very own stuffed TARDIS. If you wish to make one of these awesome creations you can get the pattern here. I also decided to use the chart to make a matching blanket bymultiplying the width by 5 and the height by 3 and using size 10.5 needles rather than size 3. If however you are not as insane as I am and would like to have an actual pattern one can be found here. One other awesome Doctor Who pattern that I found is a pattern for TARIDS socks. I haven’t tried them yet but they look really cool. The pattern is here.
I usually hate registering for websites for a number of different reasons but after searching through a number of different sites and blogs looking for great Doctor Who patterns I finally broke down and registered a free Ravelry account and if you are looking for great knitting and crochet patterns they are a really great site especially if you are a whovian itching to knit or crochet a Doctor Who item.
