Lake Eola Park in Downtown Orlando hosts a ton of events year round that are great for a day out with the kids and for parents on a budget. Most events are free to attend.

Amenities: Children’s playground, picnic areas, park benches, concessions, free and paid parking on the side streets and nearby businesses, public restrooms, running/jogging/bicycling paths, bike racks, water fountains.
The walk surrounding the lake is .9 miles making it a great place for running, walking, bicycling or walking your leashed dog. Bring the kids and a homemade picnic lunch and enjoy the children’s playground for free. Lake Eola Park also has swan-shaped paddle boats for rent and electric gondola boats – both at $15 per half hour. Pets are not allowed in playgrounds or athletic fields.

Location: Lake Eola Park on the corner of E. Central Blvd and N. Eola Drive
Parking: Free on street parking on Sunday, includes metered spaces. Paid parking garages are also available on: South Osceola Ave. and North Eola Drive.
The Orlando Farmer’s Market at Lake Eola Park is one of the best in Orlando. Every Sunday local vendors create a Food Court and International Bridge showcasing their farm fresh produce in addition to prepared foods and creative artistic crafts on the Bridge. Bring the kids to play in the playground, and then enjoy lunch at one of the many food court vendors. Stroll along the International Bridge and talk to the many local artists who exhibit their arts and crafts and enjoy free live entertainment.

Location: Lake Eola Park Amphitheater Open Field
This event brings the Orlando community together to celebrate and raise awareness for children with special needs. This is a free event that is held annually, also known as Nathaniel’s Hope Buddy Stroll. There’s free food, entertainment, prizes and the opportunity to learn more about service providers for the special needs community.
Caribbean American Heritage Multicultural Day
Date: Saturday, June 25
Time: 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Location: Lake Eola Park Amphitheater and Washington Plaza.
This is the first multicultural event by the Caribbean Chamber of Commerce of Florida for all Caribbean Countries. Local Caribbean restaurants will provide a Taste of the Caribbean. Caribbean arts and crafts will be displayed along with music and dance performances.
