July 4th Events in the Dallas Metro Area

This year the July fourth lands on a Monday, making for a nice three day weekend. There are several events scheduled around Dallas celebrating our nation’s patriotic holiday. With concerts, parades, kids’ events and fireworks, the entertainment will begin on Saturday and continue through Monday night. So grab your picnic basket, folding-chairs and blankets, and join your hometown for some red, white and blue fun.

Old-Fashioned Fourth – Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park

This event is set in the historical era from1840 to 1910. Locals will show you how Dallas celebrated Independence Day with characters in historic costumes and a tour of historic buildings. There will be Victorian games as well as hands-on activities. The kids can make ice cream and ride the fastest stick ponies in town. The best event is the Stick Pony Race!

Purchase your tickets by July 1 and get this special reduced rate of just $4 per person. At the gate, regular admission rates of $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for seniors and $4.00 for children over 3 years old, will apply.

This event is fun for the entire family. There will be free admission to Fair Park’s eight museums from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., including the Dallas Aquarium and Museum of Nature Science. Two new “Dancing water” shows will choreograph to music during the event.
Enjoy live music by Stefani Little Band at 7 p.m. in front of the Hall of State building.

There will be games, plenty of July Fourth food favorites and musical entertainment by the Dallas Wind Symphony at 8:30 p.m.

Fair Park Fourth will feature a fireworks program by Pyrotechnico at 9:30 p.m. synchronized to choreographed music with live Broadcast on 98.7 KLUV

Plano TX events

Plano Independence Day Parade
Monday, July 4
The parade begins at 9 a.m.

Kick off the morning by watching the parade along its route down Independence Parkway from 15th Street west to Parkhaven Drive. This event is coordinated by the Plano Early Lions Club.

The All-American Fourth fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

Bring your family, friends and neighbors along with blankets and a picnic basket, to enjoy the show. Parking will be available at Plano Centre, Collin College and First United Methodist Church Plano.

Kaboom Town 2011 in Addison TX

This 30-minute fireworks show is presented by Time Warner Cable. The fireworks are choreographed to music and a live radio simulcast on 100.3 JACK FM. There is great food, live music on the Dos Equis Stage and the spectacular Addison Airport Air Show featuring the Cavanaugh Flight Museum Warbird Flyover.
Kaboom Town is rated one of the top 10 fireworks shows in the country by USA Today. Many local restaurants and hotels host special watching parties. Stay after the fireworks for a free movie under the stars.
