Whoever has gone to a fair amount of baby showers, or has organized some, is likely to be familiar with one of the funniest baby shower games out there. “Tinkle in the Pot” is sure to get loads of laughs, but even more so if you take the time to craft your own little potties, with only a few materials that you already have lying around your house.
The “Tinkle in the Pot” baby shower game is a funny way to mimic the “tinkle” problem that pregnant mommies-to-be have to deal with on a daily basis. The game can be done both as an inside or an outside game. It requires only a few cups and an equal number of coins. A plastic cup (or any other kind of container) is placed in front of each contestant. The players have to race towards the containers holding a coin between their knees, which they have to release in the pot. The winner takes the prize, while the ones who lose their coins on the way to the “potty” have to start the race all over again.
For a funny spin, the players can wear inflated balloons underneath their shirts for a “pregnant” look, or carry water balloons between their legs, while trying “not to let their water break.”
Any type of container can serve as the potty. A hilarious alternative is, however, to create your own potties using simple materials and a few minutes of your time.
You will need:
– a plastic cup
– toilet paper
– a toothpick
– glue (or a hot glue gun)
– a pencil
Here is how to do it:
1 – Find a disposable plastic cup or bowl. Any size will do.
2 – Turn the cup upside down and trace the contour of its opening on a piece of paper. Thicker paper is better.
3 – Cut the paper circle out. This is the potty top.
4 – Glue the top vertically to the side of the plastic cup. (This will obviously be the much detested open potty.)
5 – Turn the cup upside down and trace the contour of its opening again on a piece of paper.
6 – Cut a circle a quarter of an inch around this contour, then another one a quarter of an inch inside the contour. The big “O” you obtained is your potty seat.
7 – Cut a small portion of the potty seat in a straight line, so that you can glue it to the plastic cup opening, allowing for the open top.
8 – Glue the seat to the plastic cup.
9 – Take two sheets of toilet paper (don’t tear them apart!) and cut up a long sheet of about one inch wide along their side.
10 – Take a toothpick and cut off the sharp ends.
11 – Place some glue on one end of the toothpick and roll the one inch wide toilet paper sheet around it. Glue the end of the roll so that it stays in place.
12 – Glue the other end of the toothpick to the side of the plastic cup. A hot glue gun may work better.
Of course, you can go beyond the call, and make your potty as disgusting as you please. Filling it with yellow jelly is one way of disturbing your guests up to a moderate level. Bring your potties to the baby shower and expect wild laughs. Have fun!
