You can easily make an Easter Basket that looks like a bunny. You can use any basket you have at home or go purchase a basket of any kind. You will then need to find the correct size head for your Easter Basket Bunny. You may want to take the basket you have chosen to the craft store or Wal-mart when you go to purchase the Styrofoam ball for the head. Hold several different size heads up to the rim of the basket until you decide what size you need for your Easter Basket Bunny. You will also need some white and pink craft foam or felt, glue, a marker and a large cotton ball.
The first thing you may want to do is to push the Styrofoam ball down on the edge of the basket to make a ridge in the ball. You can now remove the ball to work on it. Having the ridge in the ball will make it easier to put it in place when you have it all decorated. You will now cut out two feet from white craft foam and pink pads for on the bottom of the bunny’s feet. See the picture for the shape of the bunny’s feet. You need one large pink pad and three small pink pads for each bunny’s foot. See the photo above to get an idea of the shape of bunny feet. Glue the pink pads in place on your Easter Bunny’s feet.
Now cut out two white bunny ears for on your Easter basket bunny. You can use felt or craft foam, but the craft foam holds the shape better since the feet and ears are going to stick up in the air. The size of your bunny’s ears is going to depend on the size of the Easter basket and bunny head you choose. You want them to be pretty long. After deciding on the size of the ears and cutting them out, you will cut out two smaller pieces of pink foam for the inner part of the bunny ears. If you do not have pink and do not want to purchase any, you can paint the pink centers onto the ears. Now glue the ears onto the back of the Easter bunny’s head.
The face of your Easter bunny has several options. You can use two very large, moving eyes if you have them on hand, or you can cut some out of felt or craft foam. You can cut a small pink heart or triangle for the nose.
You may want to draw the whole face on one piece of white craft foam and then glue the whole piece on the Styrofoam ball. (See photo) However, you decide to do your face, complete it now.
We are now ready to assemble your Easter bunny basket. The Easter bunny is going to be lying down with his feet sticking up and the basket will serve as his tummy. So, first put your Easter bunny’s head back on the basket. You can use a little glue to secure it. Across from his head, you will glue your Easter bunny’s feet and below his feet, glue on his tail.
You are ready to fill your Easter bunny basket up with Easter grass, some Easter eggs and some colorful, tasty Easter goodies.
