How to Get Rid of Freckles If You Can’t Learn to Love Them

Fair skinned women often want to know how to get rid of freckles quickly and easily. Freckles are brown spots that lay flat on the skin and can be found anywhere on the body. Usually no larger than the eraser on a pencil these spots can be very annoying to many women.

Although freckles can affect anyone of any race, fair skinned persons generally have more freckles than anyone else. While it should be used as a last resort, getting rid of freckles with medical intervention is a possibility. Chemical peels with alpha hydroxy acids actually burn off the outer layer of skin and will in time, reduce freckles. Prescriptions for vitamin A and retin A can also be applied to skin to reduce the appearance of freckles. Additionally, laser therapy can be used to remove the freckles although this procedure can be costly.

How to get rid of freckles with home remedies

There are many inexpensive home remedies that are touted for their ability to get rid of freckles. Lemon juice has an acidic power that when applied to skin will lighten freckles. Apply with a cotton ball and remember to stay out of direct sunlight.

Apply a mask of sour cream to face. Leave on until dry and then rinse clean and blot skin dry. You can also make a mask with grated cucumber (you could also put the cucumber in a blender and blend it into a thick slurry) mixed with honey and lemon juice. Again, rinse clean and blot skin dry.

A very gentle way to fade freckles is to open up a few vitamin E capsules and rub the oil on your face daily. It will take some time but it will eventually help to fade your freckles.

The best advice I ever got on how to get rid of freckles was to make friends with my freckles, apply my makeup carefully to enhance other assets and stay out of the sun to prevent more freckles from appearing.
