Happy Easter! Here are a some verses that keep us focused on Christ our Savior. He died that we all would one day have a chance to live again. Let us rejoice in knowing that our Savior and Lord suffered, died, and carried all of our sins, but by His blood we shall be cleansed.
Mark 10:34 (NIV)
“Who will mock him and spit on him, flog him and kill him. Three days later he will rise.”
Romans 8:34 (NIV)
“Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died-more than that, who was raised to life-is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
Luke 24:7 (NIV)
“The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.”
John 15:13 (NIV)
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
Matthew 28:5-10 (NIV)
“The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.
So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. ‘Greetings,’ he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
John 11:25-27 (NIV)
“Jesus said to her [Martha], ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?’
‘Yes, Lord,’ she replied, ‘I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.’
Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.”
Mark 16:15-20 (NIV)
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
