As the temperature outside is rising and pocketbooks seem to be shrinking, finding an inexpensive, clean place to relax and cool off may seem like an unreasonable request, but it isn’t. If you are looking for great family swimming spots in Atlanta, Georgia, look no farther than Grant Park Pool, Chandler Park Pool and/or Piedmont Park Aquatic Center. All priced the same (pricing located at the end of this article), varying by the times they offer their free swimming.
Grant Park Pool
Grant Park Pool is located at 840 Cherokee Avenue in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to it’s large pool area for all ages, it also offers a child pool with a gradual slope for easier little-feet access and stability, water spouts for extra fun and entertainment and a bit of shade for those with sensitive skin. Swim lessons are available, given be a WSI Certified Instructor, in groups or privately, starting at the age of 6 months old, up to an adult beginner class. The pool is open from May 30th to September 5th

Chandler Park Pool
Chandler Park Pool is located at 1500 McLendon Ave. NE in Atlanta, Georgia. If you are looking for a slow-pace, family fun spot, without the hustle and bustle of a Water Park feel, this may be the place for you. It has the feeling of a pool in your own back yard. A nice size swimming pool with a concrete lounging surround that was placed in the middle of a luscious green park, also offers playgrounds and a nice picnic area. The pool is open from June 1st to September 5th.

Piedmont Park Aquatic Center
Piedmont Park Aquatic Center is located inside of Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia. This is perhaps the best pool for that Water Park feeling. In addition to its over-sized family pool, it also offers a floating channel, beach entry, lap swim, just to name a few, and a nice shaded place to avoid that hot afternoon sun. Piedmont Park Aquatic Center offers scheduled group swim (call ahead for groups of more than 20 people) and swim lessons. It is open from May 29th through September.
