On Monday, July 4, 2011, the St. Cloud Greater Osceola Chamber of Commerce will host the 4th of July St. Cloud Lakefront Celebration from noon to 10:00 pm. The Corban Keene Band, a Dixieland Brass Quartet, a TaekwanDo demonstration from ATA Mass Defense, Kenyon Lockry, The Osceola Community Choir, a reading of the Declaration of Independence and much more will follow opening ceremonies at the Lake Amphitheater. Guests in the Boat Basin area can party to the sounds of DJ Vic from House Party Entertainment and take part in many other activities. The Wife Carrying Race is sure to be a uproarious event. The City of Oviedo Recreation and Parks is inviting the public to the Oviedo Mall at 1700 Oviedo Marketplace Boulevard from noon to 9:00 pm for a free Independence Day Celebration. There will be kids activities in the free Kid Zone, refreshments for purchase, vendors, live music and Fireworks. The scheduled entertainment includes the country band Jim Van Fleet and The Reign, an acoustic trio called Vonray, and the former lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter for Exploding Boy, Michael J. Go wild at the Red, White and ZOO event on July 2, 3, and 4, 2011 at the Central Florida Zoo. From 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on those days guests can celebrate Independence Day and the Central Florida Zoo’s 34th Birthday. There will be live music, games, food, children’s crafts, face painting, magic, waterslide, and zoo animal encounters. Visitors can seek out the items on a scavenger hunt, slip along a water slide and play in the Wharton-Smith Tropical Splash Ground. The Central Florida Zoo is located at 3755 NW Hwy 17-92 in Sanford. The City of Winter Park is holding their 16th annual Olde Fashioned 4th of July Celebration on Monday, July 4, 2011 from 9:00 am – 1:00pm in Central Park. Pack a picnic lunch, bring a blanket or chair and join in the fun. A children’s bicycle parade will take place at 9:00 am from City Hall to Central Park. At 11:00 am Mayor Ken Bradley will lead a presentation from the main stage to honor the listing of the downtown historic district on the National Register of Historic Places. There will be horse-drawn wagon rides, entertainment by the Bach Festival Brass Band and the Bach Festival Choir, dance presentation by the Orlando Cloggers, and a Rockin’ Roadster Road Show. Joining in the celebration, The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art is holding an Independence Day Open House and offering free admission.
