Planning a wedding takes a lot of time and energy. With so many big things to plan, such as the ceremony, catering, music and a host of other to-dos, it can be easy to forget the little things. However, in an effort to not let those little things creep up on you at the last minute, here is a brief to-do list for those easily postponed activities.
1 .Cosmetic appointments
Whether you are planning to get your teeth whitened, get a tan or simply cut your hair, these appointments need to be made well in advance of your big day. You will want to style your hair or get nails done the day before or the day of your wedding, but for some of the more drastic cosmetic changes, you’ll want to have plenty of time to get used to your updated appearance before you walk down the aisle.
2. Seating arrangements
Deciding where your guests will sit is an easy thing to put off, particularly since you will not be able to finalize a seating chart until all of your guests have responded. However, this can be one of the most time-consuming activities, so at least put together an outline early and assign tables to guests you know will be coming.
Similar to seating arrangements, you have every good reason to put these off until the end. But filling out placecards is an easy task to cross off your to-do list, and it will likely even help you figure out those pesky seating arrangements.
4. Pick out your accessories
Finding the dress, the shoes, and even the undergarments is one of the first things many brides do. However, as the rest of the wedding planning gets underway, sometimes attire gets forgotten. Accessories are key to any beautiful bride’s look, so make sure to take the time to find the right necklace or bracelet to accentuate you, your dress and the most important accessory of your wedding – your ring!
5. Bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts
It is customary to give tokens of affection and appreciation to the wedding party for their help and presence at your wedding. This is another easy task to cross off the list early, but it is equally easy to forget about it until the last minute. Spend some time talking to your friends and family about ideas for gifts for your wedding party, and then make the purchase. As your list of other to-dos piles up, you’ll be happy this one is done.
While these five tips are only a few of the things you’ll need to remember to do before your big day, they are some of the most important to not leave until the last minute. Do them early, and you and your fiance will be much more relaxed as your wedding day approaches.
