Just hours after Britney Spears made the big announcement that Enrique Iglesias would be joining her on an upcoming North American tour, her accompanying act has reportedly dropped out!
The pop diva confirmed rumors about the tour to Robin Roberts whens she appeared on “Good Morning America” earlier today (March 29), saying “I’m going on tour with Enrique Iglesias in June.”
But now those plans are no more according to Billboard, who says an official announcement is expected sometime in the immediate future. So far, it’s unclear why Iglesias wants off the tour.
During the “Good Morning America” spot this morning, Spears expressed her love and appreciation for her fans. “Thank you so much for all your love and support. You guys are beautiful. I love it. I love music. It’s my world. It’s my everything.”
After her surprise show in Vegas last Friday, omg! news reveals that Britney capped off her weekend by taping her performance for today’s “Good Morning America” episode. The “Baby One More Time” songstress was in top form for the gig, and even received a proclamation that March 27th was Britney Spears Day onstage at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
The 29-year-old pop star performed her same three-song set from Friday night at the San Francisco venue, according to ABC News. Opening with her first single, “Hold It Against Me,” Spears reportedly popped out of a speaker to perform her second hit, “Big Fat Bass”. Donning a different outfit for each of the three songs, Brit chose to open the show in a sparkly silver number.
The GMA set closed to a background of pyrotechnics blasting while she sang and danced to her latest single “Till The World Ends”.
About an hour and a half later, Spears excitedly tweeted, “Just wrapped GMA. I love love love you San Francisco!”
Unable to stay in City by the Bay for all that long, she also posted a pic of her pops posing alongside two dudes in drag before closing out her messaging by writing, “Leaving the Castro District. I wanted to see more but I could barely get out the car!!! I love you all SO much. PS – Even my dad had a great time! “
One of the drag queens who served as the opening act told press, “As a huge Britney fan, it was amazing. I was excited just to have Britney Spears here in San Francisco, but to participate and be a part of it was amazing.”
“It shows why she’s a superstar and certainly, I think that the crowd response showed that she’s beloved. … The reason I love Britney Spears is, throughout her career, she’s shown she’s human, she’s fallible … I think that makes her someone people can rally behind and love.”
With “Femme Fatale” dropping today, omg! news reports that Britney will also be appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” as part of the album launch.
