Have you ever wondered if the cute guy across the room likes you? How would you like to be able to tell if your funny coworker who is constantly flirting with you is sincere? In a perfect world, people would be able to express their feelings freely; however, we do not live in a perfect world. Sometimes, to find out if you have a male admirer, you must play detective and watch his body language closely. Fortunately, discovering a man’s true feelings may be as simple as watching his nonverbal signals. Subconsciously, he may be sending you signals about his attraction. In fact, when the body is sexually aroused, certain physiology changes occur. If you know what to look for, you will know if he is flirting with you because a careful study of his body language may just give you all the clues you need. In order to understand male flirting body language, you must be familiar with the key clues of attraction.
Does he tighten his muscles and stand up straight when you are around? More likely than not, he is interested in looking like a big, strong alpha male for you. Not only does standing erect make him look more imposing, dominate and tall, but also it draws your attention to him.
The Eyebrow Flash
Did you see that quick rise and fall of his eyebrows when he looked at you? That is a clue that he is at least interested in what he sees. This is an involuntary movement. Sure, some can raise their eyebrows to feign interest, but that quick eyebrow “flash” is usually an involuntary gesture of interest.
You may have noticed that most men do not make constant eye contact. In fact, many men make little to no eye contact, so if you have a male friend who is constantly making prolonged eye contact with you, watch out. He may be interested in more than a platonic relationship. Prolonged eye contact is a sure sign that he is interested in what you have to say. Furthermore, he is watching you to pick up clues if you are interested in him. Return the favor by using prolonged eye contact to show him that the attraction is mutual.
When a man sees someone he finds sexually appealing, his lips tend to part. He may even lose his breath. Another involuntary physiological reaction he may experience during attraction is increased lip sensitivity, due to increased blood flow, that causes him to lick or bite his lips.
These nonverbal clues will help you figure out if the guy you have your eye on is interested in being more than friends. Although no amount of clues could ever substitute for hearing him express his feelings, at least studying his body language will help you decide if you are wasting your time. If these signals are not present, don’t worry. With this information, you can move on to the next guy who is flirting with you and giving you these clues of attraction.
