Caffe’ Chocolat in Titusville, Florida is an understated eatery offering breakfast, lunch and dinner six days a week from Monday-Saturday from 9 AM-7 PM.
The restaurant is clean, airy and pleasant with décor reminiscent of the 1920’s era. The Caffe’ is housed at 304 S. Washington Avenue, Titusville, Florida in the former Walker/Washington Apartments circa 1924. Built for the tourist industry of the time, it is a multi-storied building with a Spanish influenced style featuring an arched arcade and barrel tiled roof.
They’re doing road improvements in the area (translation the road is torn up) so it’s a little difficult to access, but the temporary aggravation is worth the trouble. Access is from either the front of the building along Washington Avenue (U.S. 1) or the parking area at the rear at Main Street. I’ve found that the rear entrance is easier to use due to the on-going road construction.
From the rear entrance you step down to the dining area. Candies, desserts and gift items are displayed for sale. The glass display cases are smudge free and crystal clear. Candies are prepared on site. There is a small chocolate gift area to the south. Confections include chocolate tools for nurses, firemen and police officers. Of course the chocolate handcuffs, fireman’s ax and nurses thermometers would be better eaten than used in the course of your job. Fist sized chocolate pecan turtles capture the eyes. Gift baskets and chocolate towers can be prepared to the customer’s taste. On the other side of the main dining area is a gift shop. There are plenty of supplies on hand to gift wrap purchases for special occasions.
The meals at Caffe’ Chocolat should please the entire family. From biscuits, sausage, quiche, turnovers, croissants and burritos for breakfast fare to soups, salads, sandwiches, paninis and wraps for lunch to pot pie, mac & cheese and other hot entrees served after 11 am for lunch or dinner. Prices are reasonable for breakfast from about $2.00 US up to $7.00. Lunch and dinner prices range from about $4.25 on up. Drinks include fruit smoothies, milkshakes, tea, coffee and soft drinks. Desserts are absolutely fabulous and include fresh baked cakes, pies and fudge.
Caffe’ Chocolat is a very popular eatery as evidenced by the fact that they received the Best of Titusville award for two consecutive years (2009 & 2010) for the category of Best Coffee Shops.
