Peter Cottontail delivers all kinds of baskets but where is the love for Donald Trump? Mr. Cottontail, you’re fired! These particular Easter baskets should be given to those who have been Donald Trump fans for quite some time. Long before the two words Trump for and the year 2012 were found in the same sentence. Let’s hop to it!
Easter bonnets were used to hold eggs long before you were born. And thanks to a couple of German travelers, with a traditional basket sense, the US has transformed into an Easter basket loving nation. Easter baskets and eggs play part in the spring holiday each passing year. Now, for the Donald Trump Easter basket idea.
Easter baskets usually require one basket, one newspaper, a filler [options below], clear basket wrap or festive wrapping paper, scissors, thick or thin ribbon, twisty [kind used for garbage bags], a traditional basket bunny and fruits everyone is accustomed to. Topped off with an Easter card or note. Colors of wrap and ribbon are note below.
Colors required: Gold or rich yellow/orange colored filler, silver wrap, green ribbon. Silver wrap deems fitting when using green ribbon – a nice match. Ribbon length depends on basket size.
Base fillers are placed on the bottom of the basket. Here, you will use newspaper. For the super creative use a towel or blanket with either the face of Donald Trump or a large dollar bill to tuck inside of the bottom of the basket. But how to prepare the newspaper base filler?
Crumple up approximately six [or as many as it takes to fill the bottom of the basket] half sheets of newspaper and place them all on one sheet of newspaper then fold the edges over to create one ball of newspaper. Make sure it can fit inside of the basket. Tuck the newspaper ball into the basket go off the next step added fluff.
Basket fillers can be yellow/orange Easter grass [gold], 10 – 20 one dollar bills [either real or fake, shredded or not], or Monopoly money as a grass filler. We go with the yellow/orange Easter grass with this golden basket idea.
The grass filler should be spread evenly and equally. Do not press down on the newspaper. Pressing it would only crack the base filler purpose.
Base items and gifts are heavy, large in weight, width and height. Let the shopping fun begin!
Base items can be humorous. The $22 Meet me in the boardroom white 100% cotton Hanes Trump t-shirt speaks for itself. The Boardroom Shirt is located at Cafepress.com under keyword number: 102703245. Most Cafepress t-shirts come in various color options and sizes.
The nicely fitted $20 Women’s Tank is 100% combed ring spun cotton. The face of the tank displays Next Apprentice. Simply search keyword number: 49161885.
For both men and women comes the You’re Fired T-shirt. The $25 pre-shrunk 100% cotton t-shirt is found under the Cafepress search keyword: 443201932.
Roll each t-shirt separately [or together] then wrap green ribbon around the shirt(s) and cut the ribbon approximately three inches from the tie. Cut an upside down “V” on each end of the ribbon. Place into the basket.
Say it ain’t so Joe Mug is a super 15 oz ceramic $18 white mug with words of Trump wisdom splashed on the face of the mug. As long as you’re going to think anyway, think big. – Donald Trump Cafepress.com search keyword: 327948361.
Trumpstore.com shares the You’re Fired Official Mug for $15 with the option of red or white lettering. All letters are in bold. They also offer the $22 You’re Fired Hat which comes in the shape of a baseball cap with color options – red, navy blue, black, white. We all know the Don appreciates golf – the extent is the mystery. Trumpstore.com’s You’re Fired Golf Balls $10 placed inside of the basket like Easter eggs is not such a bad idea!
All large size ceramic mugs, cups, and other items should be wrapped and tied with ribbon then placed into the basket.
Music, movies, and books makes this basket even more interesting. All three should appeal to money rather than Trump himself. Oh wait, scratch that. There are not many Trump lyrics out there, not many Trump movies and, well, books are an easier find. Money, money, money, money…money, invest!
Money movies can include The Color of Money, Ocean’s 11, or Wall Street.
Money music is a no-brainer. There is Money by Pink Floyd, Take the Money and Run by Steve Miller Band, Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems by Notorious B.I.G., Taking Care of Business by Bachman Turner Overdrive, or For The Love of Money by the O’Jays. The last song is heard during Celebrity Apprentice, the Trump produced masterpiece. Songs can either be added to a CD or visit the music isle for any Celebrity Apprentice soundtracks.
How To Get Rich by Donald Trump is one of the many, many books by the Don sold at Amazon.com. Stock market magazines or Forbes subscriptions are also great basket additions.
Place all books, movies and music inside of the basket. Spread them out evenly.
Jewelry includes a gift of necklace, bracelet, watch, ring or earrings. All jewelry should come in boxes which are then wrapped, topped with a ribbon/bow and placed within the basket. Gold, silver, and all around high quality – ShamWow! Prices are not easy to absorb. However, check out your local department stores for deals and online coupons. You could save on price and gain on quality.
Golden Easter eggs! Purchase a cheap Easter egg kit. Drop a half yellow tablet into one cup and half of a red tablet into another cup and continue the instructions on the Easter egg coloring kit, but at half the amount per cup. Place both halves [other yellow / other red] tablets into one cup and slowly stir for a moment.
Place an egg inside of the cup with the yellow and red tablets. Sit for at least 5 minutes. Take out and observe. Return for an additional 5 minutes if the color is right but light. Use the other two half cups of liquid to work around any color touches. Allow all eggs to completely dry, refrigerate if needed, then place inside of the basket.
Silver couldn’t have arrived at a better time. From the flea market, yard sales, auctions to pawn stores, silver items are straws in the haystack but can be found. Silver coins are great examples of wonderful treasure finds to pass along inside of this rich basket. And a little birdie told me that silver is up these days, way up!
Once you have constructed a basket fit for a Don, it is time for the smaller items.
Gold or green jelly beans, small items or gifts should be placed into the basket. Make sure all gifts within boxes, again, are wrapped and tied with a ribbon
Small items or gifts can include a pin or button, pair of black socks, or a new tie. Small items can also be tucked into plastic Easter eggs.
Pre-paid credit cards, pre-paid gas cards, online certificates do not come in boxes. Deliver them by adding word of them on an Easter card or note.
Yes, it is time for that Easter card or note!
If you have found a Trump e-card you plan on sending this person during Easter, write down the message on a card and tuck the card at the center of the basket where it can be visible. The message could read You’ve Got E-mail!
Visit Easter Holiday Greeting Cards & Messages for a variety of choices. There you will find Easter messages, sayings, and questions.
Wrap it up!
We need to clarify silver wrap. If you are holding aluminum foil above the basket right now getting ready to rip – don’t! We are not cooking the basket, just wrapping it. Best silver wrap to use would be found in department stores or craft stores. It is clear yet lightly colored, just as most Easter basket wrap is designed.
Place the basket in the center of the silver wrap as the wrap lays on a flat surface. Hold the wrap ends together above the basket with one hand and use a twisty to twist the wrap where it meets the top of the basket. Tie a ribbon into a bow around the same area where the twisty is located. Cut an upside down “V” on each end of the ribbon.
Now, deliver this Donald Trump Easter Basket idea to one lucky Don supporter this holiday season.
