Celebrity Apprentice Finale: John Rich, Meatloaf, Lil Jon and Marlee Matlin

Part 1 of the fourth Celebrity Apprentice finale was broadcast on Sunday, May 15, 2011. Donald Trump narrowed down the four remaining contestants to the final 2. The final four contestants were Lil Jon, John Rich, Meatloaf and Marlee Matlin.

Trump had previous winners Bret Michaels, Joan Rivers and Piers Morgan conduct interviews. That group came to a consensus that John Rich and Marlee Matlin should advance to the final round. Lil Jon failed to answer that he should go to the finals when asked. The previous winners hated that answer. They also felt that Meatloaf, while very passionate, was a bit too emotional when it comes to a business environment.

John Rich and Marlee have raised the most money by far in this season of Celebrity Apprentice. They have also pretty much smashed even previous winners of the show in terms of dollars raised for charity.

In the end, Trump decided to go with those recommendations and fired Lil Jon and Meatloaf.

John and Marlee then got their finals projects. It is a 7UP project. Rich has to put together and 7UP Retro campaign for the 80’s. Marlee is doing the same thing for the 70’s.

John Rich seems to have gotten the better overall support team: Lil Jon, Mark McGrath and Star Jones. On the other hand, while Meatloaf had a lot of ideas for Marlee’s project, LaToya Jackson and Richard Hatch seem like dead weight.

The biggest disappointment on the teams was Trump not bringing back Gary Busey. He was the star of the show and would have made it a more interesting Celebrity Apprentice finale.

Both teams decided to bring celebrities into the mix that were tied to their decade. Once again, John Rich’s team just seemed to have a better idea, picking Twisted Sister’s Dee Holder to appear in their commercial. Marlee’s team picked Jeffrey Holder, an actor who appeared in some 7UP commercial in the 70’s. Although most people won’t know exactly who Dee Snyder is, he fits the image of the 80’s. Holder, on the other hand, is not particularly an icon of anything. Most people will have never seen or won’t remember that commercial.

Rich is also trying to get Def Leppard for the live presentation, but he is butting heads with their manager. They may or may not get Def Leppard.

At the end, we find out that Jeffrey Holder can’t sign the release to do the commercial because he has some kind of contract issue. The show then ends with those cliffhangers.

We find out that Nene and Gary Busey are coming back next week. That should be fun. The finale will be next Sunday, May 22, 2011. Will John Rich win Celebrity Apprentice? Will Marlee Matlin win? What do you think?
