One morning last week, I was running early for an appointment, so I decided to get something to eat at the Burger King restaurant located two blocks from my apartment. I decided to try the Pancakes and Sausage Platter from their breakfast menu and I’m very glad that I did so.
Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is one food writer’s product review of the Pancakes and Sausage Platter served at Burger King restaurants.
This Burger King breakfast platter is not too big and not too small. The platter contains three good sized pancakes and one average sized sausage patty. I like the fact that this breakfast platter filled me up, but did not leave me feeling bloated, or over full, which is often the case when I eat pancakes.
The regular price charged for one Burger King Pancakes and Sausage Platter at Hartford, Connecticut area Burger King restaurants is approximately $2.99. While there are other breakfast items at Burger King and other fast food restaurants that are lower priced, I think that this item is reasonably priced.
Texture / Consistency
I must say, I’m very impressed with the textures offered by the items in the Burger King Pancakes and Sausage Platter. The pancakes are actually light and fluffy and cooked just right.
Before I ate this platter, I was expecting the pancakes to be rubbery and / or unlike homemade pancakes in texture, but I was wrong. I have eaten frozen, packaged pancakes many times and their texture can become un – appealing if they are cooked in a microwave oven for just a few seconds too long. These pancakes were nothing like that. Honestly, I don’t think I could produce pancakes that are this evenly browned and fluffy at home.
Although I really enjoyed eating the sausage patty in the Burger King Pancakes and Sausage Platter, its texture seemed more like a fast food item than the pancakes, to me.
Burger King Pancakes and Sausage Platter contains 670 calories, per one platter serving. Taste / Flavor
The Burger King Pancakes and Sausage Platter is quite tasty. It tastes better than I expected it to. The corporate chefs at Burger King really know their portion sizes. Quite often, when I eat pancakes, the sweetness and heft of the cakes makes me not want to eat them again, for a while.
Not so with the Burger King Pancakes and Sausage Platter. My appetite and sweet cravings were satisfied, but not overwhelmed. The pancakes are nicely browned and not heavy tasting and the sausage features a pleasantly seasoned flavor that complements the pancakes wonderfully.
The maple flavored pancake syrup that comes with this platter is also very tasty. When I first saw the container of syrup, I thought there wouldn’t be enough to adequately cover the pancakes and sausage. As it turns out, there was just enough.
When I have access to unlimited pancake syrup, I usually pour out too much. With the container of syrup provided with the Burger King Pancakes and Sausage Platter, the pancakes and sausage were covered satisfactorily, but they weren’t swimming in syrup. I could actually taste the flavor of the pancakes, instead of tasting mostly syrup.
The Burger King Pancakes and Sausage Platter is packaged in a plastic plate like container that features a plastic lid. The maple flavored pancake syrup comes in a separate plastic container. Plastic eating utensils were also included with the platter.
Whether you’re on the go and need a quick, tasty start to the day, or you’re in the mood to relax with a nice breakfast and a cup of coffee, the Burger King Pancakes and Sausage Platter is a great product to eat.
This reasonably priced, satisfying breakfast platter is available at many Burger King restaurants and is highly recommended by this food writer.
