Summer 2011 here I come. It has been a long somewhat stressful college semester and I’m ready to whine down and read some awesome books. During the semester, I have been scanning Borders bookstore and contemplating some books I would like to read along with some unread books I have at home on my bookshelf. Besides writing, reading is my favorite hobby. I read mostly sci-fi/fantasy fiction, writing magazines, and fashion magazines. Through this summer I’ll be reading all my books on hardcover or paperback, albeit e-readers are cheaper but I love the feel of a book in my hand and manually turning the pages.
New King James Study Bible by various authors.
I’m reading this book not only during the summer but throughout the year as well. The best book to read to strengthen my Christian faith and to live the best life I possibly can.
Priest Graveyard by Ted Dekker
This is the latest novel from Ted Dekker who is my favorite writer. Two abandoned souls are on the hunt for one powerful man. Soon, their paths will cross and lead to one twisted fate. This is a Christian thriller, and the best writer to ever do it is Ted Dekker. I have read many other novels by this writer, and I never was disappointed so I’m excited to read this novel.
The Gospel According to Jesus: What is Authentic Faith? by John F. McArthur
I was introduced to this novel at a college Bible study, and it is the most important book you’ll ever read besides the Bible. This novel bestows us the Bible raw and shows what the Bible originally means with Greek translations of the original text.
Miles to Go by Richard Paul Evans
This is a sequel to The Walk which was about a man who lost his wife, job, house, and became homeless. So he decided to take a journey on foot across the world and along the way he had many troubles, and some inspiring moments by the people he met. I’m looking forward to reading this novel because the first book left on an intriguing cliffhanger. It is also an emotional book. In the first novel, there were moments that I had to restrain tears.
Relationships by Drs. Les & Leslie Parrott
This is a self-help book discussing different relationships and how to make bad relationships better. I know this probably sounds like another pointless self-help book, but I found interest in this one because it comes from a Christian perspective and at the time I bought the book; I was going through a tough relationship with my ex-girlfriend.
The Love Dare: A Year of Devotions for Couples by Stephen Kendrick, Alex Kendrick, and Lawrence Kimbrough.
I bought this book because I write articles on relationships so I thought that this book will give me daily ideas on what topics to cover plus it has the benefit of helping me with my future relationships.
