Law graduate Lauren Giddings was preparing to embark on her career when she was murdered . She was in the midst of studying for the bar examination to complete her credentials to practice law. Unfortunately, her life ended too soon when someone killed her. The police in Macon, Georgia are now trying to figure out who the killer was and where the crime took place.
DNA Confirmation of Identity
The police have now officially confirmed that the dismembered body found outside of the Barristers Hall Apartments is Giddings, notes Macon.com. Numerous tests determined that the body matched Lauren’s DNA. The family of Ms. Giddings has been notified of the news that the body was identified. They now need the help of the public to learn more about the murder of Giddings.
The body was located on June 30. Since then the police have been on a search to find all of the body parts. Numerous areas of Macon, Georgia were searched . Authorities looked into the local storm drains with a robotic camera for items related to Giddings’ murder. However, the search did not turn up any new items.
Notify Police with Information
Notify the police if you saw anything unusual in the time leading up to Lauren’s disappearance or after she went missing. Someone probably has important information that they have not yet shared with the police. No matter how small the clue, anything you saw that struck you as odd around the neighborhood at the time Giddings went missing could be an important fact for the police.
Macon police chief, Mike Burns, noted that authorities do not yet know the cause of death in Lauren’s murder, notes 13 WMAZ Georgia Avenue, the street where Lauren lived, is on edge. It is shocking indeed that a young woman could be killed in such a horrific way. There are about a dozen “persons of interest” in the case now.
Did Lauren Giddings Know the Killer?
It will be most shocking if the killer is found to also be a graduate of the Mercer University law school Giddings attended. Many law students lived in the Barristers Hall apartments with Giddings. Her body was discovered outside of the apartment building.
It is not yet known where Giddings died. Hopefully the rest of her body will soon be found so the police have more information to work with. It is sickening that the killed dismembered her. This kind of murder reminds the world that predators lurk everywhere and commit unimaginable crimes. Perhaps all high schools should teach self-defense classes. This could help people have the skills needed to fight off an attacker.
