Easter is about Christ dying and being raised on the third day. It is about life coming from death. Easter has changed my life and I am apparently not alone in that as the source, the Bible, that tells me this story continues year after year to be a best-selling book. If, like me, you have needed a huge miracle, then Easter is particularly precious. One year preparing for family to come over, we tore down a building shed behind our home during which we had an accident. My foot was pierced with an old nail from one of the side walls. I spent that Easter meditating what Jesus did for me. I am not someone who reads a scripture turns it into a placard and then forgets it. Perhaps, like me, you have had some real needs.
At one point, a vet told me my dog would die. My Easter dog was two years old. She was missing a right hip ball. I loved this dog that had so many little gifts. Remembering bibles verses to celebrate Easter, I was able to remember how Easter also meant life.Mark 11 (amplified), ” 22 And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly].” Now faith is defined as believing what you do not yet see. I badly wanted my dog to live. Yet, my dog is an animal not a person. Can you see Jesus’ mother at the cross looking at her son and wanting him to live?
He went on to say “23Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him”. When I started studying from Genesis 1 on, I learned what we say is important. On Facebook’s Holy Land Moments word of the day, they defined the Hebrew word “DABAR” as word but also thing or event. God lumped the word for “word” with making things or events happen. Would Jesus mama seeing the tragedy of her son on that cross have grabbed onto this scripture? I know I naively took my dog’s experience and after sorrowing for two weeks, I chose to believe this scripture. We know Jesus spoke of his death and resurrection.
He was strong saying “24For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].” This focus, this faith that does not waver or speak contradictory things is important. At Easter, there may be some big things you face and you may need bible verses for Easter. For my dog that the vet said would soon be dead, I took this bible verses model and prayed these words. I praised God for the results as many of us have thanked God for Jesus being raised from the dead. Today, my Easter dog has hiked more than 100 miles backcountry with a backpack on her back. Her next Easter birthday, she will be eleven years old.
As you might apply these Easter bible verses model to your own life, remember one more thing. Mark 11 (amplified) “25And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop (leave it, let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your failings and shortcomings and let them drop.” Almost the last words he spoke were “Father forgive them for they know not what they do”. (Luke 23:34) Jesus lived his life, he spoke the Word, he lined his life up with the Word of God so he became the Word as John 1 says. Because of Him, we have the Glory of Easter.
Easter is an exciting time of “good news” with plenty to celebrate. May it be wonderful for you, too!
