Best Movies Summer 2011

This summer is gearing up to be one giant movie explosion. 2011 is jam packed with sequels, prequels, and remakes. Here are some of the biggest titles coming out over the next four months that just might sway you to leave the sunshine and come indoors to enjoy the show.

5/20/2011 Piratesof the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Who else would you have track down the fountain of youth other than our own Captain Jack Sparrow? After a four year hiatus, Disney has returned with the fourth installment of this franchise bringing along a few new characters and a promise to WOW.

05/26/2011 The Hang Over Part II www

Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug are back and ready to provide another hilarious glimpse into their chaotically hilarious lives. The sequel shows promise to equal its highly successful predecessor.

05/26/11 Kung Foo Panda 2

Po is back and ready as ever to tackle any enemy he can find, and lunch. This sequel should be fun for the entire family.

06/03/2011 XMen: First Class

This prequel takes us back in time to witness firsthand the beginning of this enthralling story. A glimpse into the early beginnings of Magneto and Professor X, before they were even known by those names, and the events that formed the story we love. Any fan of the series will not want to miss this.

The trailers have been exciting and suspenseful and we are just dying to get the details on the creepy phenomenon happening in this sleepy town. With J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg on board, this dynamite combination promises an amazing experience.

DC Comics is bringing to life the story of Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) and the super powers given

to him in the form of a ring. Being asked to master those powers and help fight a threatening enemy, Hal’s action packed journey is sure to be worth seeing.

07/01/2011 Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Sam and the Autobots are back in this third installment of the Transformers series. Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg whip up a new race against the Decepticons that is sure to thrill.

07/15/2011 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

Many of us grew up reading the Harry Potter books and now watching the movies, and wouldn’t miss the final climactic installment- and most importantly, the final showdown with he-who-must-not-be-named.

07/22/2011 Captain America: The First Avenger Marvel Comic has a second big movie out this season (if you missed Thor) and as one of the cornerstone characters of the continuing slate of movies leading up to the Avengers movie in 2012, its not one to miss.

07/29/2011 Cowboys & Aliens

This western sci-fi action film stars Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde. A new spin on the old clich©s should be refreshingly awesome.

08/15/2011 Riseof the Plant of the Apes

Another exciting prequel is coming up, and can I just say — IT’S A MAD HOUSE! Starring James Franco as the scientist who witnesses the beginnings of the race of Apes, fans of Apes everywhere, rejoice!

08/19/2011 Conan the Barbarian

As summer turns to fall, we have this epic adventure to look forward to. A classic fictional character’s tale is re-spun and this time in 3D.
