Being part of such a mild climate with tons of “skate spots”, Orange County, CA is very popular among skaters. But both beginners and pros can appreciate a good skate park for a fun time any day. With this weather, you’ll find most parks being outdoors, but there are both options available so the fun does not have to stop on a rare rainy day. Each boasting unique qualities, plan a visit to each one to discover your favorite, and those that challenge new skills. #5 Laguna Nigel
A 22,000 sq. ft. outdoor park with lights. Found on the corner of Alicia Pkwy and Aliso Creek Road, you’ll find this concrete park fit with vert, tranny, and street areas. With the pool area on one side, skaters are mainly separated by street and tranny.
Rules: Helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads required and enforced. – Liability form will need to be filled out by all participants – Those under 18, will need a parent or guardian present on your first visit – and photography is allowed.

#4 Santa Ana Skate Park (At Centennial Park)
This 12,000 sq. ft. park does not disappoint for street skaters. Concrete and outdoor, this free park is worth a visit. At 3000 W. Edinger, Santa Ana, CA, you’ll find stairs, ledges, fun-boxes, rails and more. This well-rounded park has big rails and ledges.
Rules: Helmet, Knee and elbow pads required.

#3 Vans Skate Park
A 30,000 sq. ft. indoor park, consisting of wood and concrete, this park has tranny, vert, street, mini ramp, pool, and vert ramp. Avoid weekends for worry of too many skaters.
Rules: Those under 18, will not be allowed use of the Skate park without wearing knee pads, elbow pads and a helmet. All but helmet are optional for those over 18. Equipment is also available for rent from $2-$5.
Price: M-F: Members- $7 all day, non-members- $12 all day
Sat-Sun.: Members- $10, non-members- $15 all day
Note there are BMX session times Tuesday and Sunday nights from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

#2 Etnies Skate Park
This 40,000 sq. ft. park boasts newness among most others. Opening in 2003, this concrete outdoor park boasts terrain with tranny, vert, street, and pool; and a design created by numerous pros. One of the largest parks in the nation, it basically has something for every skater. See times to avoid bmx sessions. Being so big, crowding is rarely any problem.
Rules: Helmet, knee and elbow pads are required and is enforced by staff.
Price: This skate park is FREE. However, non-residents of Lake Forest will need to purchase an ID card for $5. Residents of Lake Forest will receive their id cards for free.

#1 United Skate Park
This indoor, concrete and coping skate park has mainly street and tranny. This park’s rails, hubas, fun-boxes, are accompanied by a 5 foot quarter pipe with 4 foot extension- great for blunts and tricks to wall ride. United also has an a- frame, which makes it unique. A smaller park being indoors, it can get crowded on rainy days. Otherwise not a problem on most days for this park usually visited by locals.
Rules: Waiver required, pads and helmet required
Price: $5 all day
