McCabe’s Irish Bistro and Pub at Southland Mall in Aurora, Colorado is a great hot spot for local karaoke every Friday night. At 9 p.m the bar, restaurant, and the patio are full and local DJ, Steve Korsmo, plays the hottest hits of today and offers an extensive list of choice songs for karaoke. You can sing almost any song you can think of and karaoke your heart out all night long.
McCabe’s Irish Pub offers $2, $3, and $4 drink specials along with a full bar. You also have a delicious choice of appetizers, entrees, and desserts from the Irish inspired full menu. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, you can order any of their burgers with a veggie burger patty. The food is served quickly and piping hot by friendly waiters who aren’t afraid of a little good conversation.
When the karaoke fun begins, you can grab a list of songs from the DJ and sign up for your favorite hit from today or the past. The list, which is actually a thick book, includes everything from Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” to Bloodhound Gang’s “Bad Touch”. When the DJ calls your name, head on up to the small stage and you will be handed the microphone. The words to your song are displayed on a large flat screen TV on the opposite wall. As is usual with karaoke, the words are filled in with another color as they are to be sung. The background music is nice and loud and you can also hear the original artist singing to help you stay on key. The crowd is usually hopping and very supportive of all the brave men and women singing their favorite song karaoke style. Lots of fun and dancing is to be had.
My personal experience at McCabe’s Irish Bistro and Pub was a very fun one. I am not a fan of karaoke and don’t usually attend venues that have a karaoke night. However, a good friend of mine who lives on the opposite side of Denver, Colorado in the city of Aurora invited me to attend the local karaoke night. I walked into a nice and very clean restaurant and was greeted by a few different members of the staff. I headed up the stairs to meet my friends by the very large flat screen TV airing a Colorado Rockies baseball game. The happy hour drinks were not very strong, but were still worth the $3 price tag. After a few drinks and lot of convincing, I went up to the microphone and sang “Passionate Kisses” by Mary Chapin Carpenter to a full room of people. It was not a frightening experience like I had originally thought it would be. It was a lot of fun and I defiantly plan on going back.
So if you are in Denver, Colorado or a nearby area, check out McCabe’s Irish Pub and Bistro at 6100 South Main Street in Aurora, CO 80016 for the best local karaoke bar on Friday nights.
