Best Green Tea for Weight Loss: Oolong Tea

Most people have heard green tea is great for weight loss? But what’s the best green tea for blocking fat and losing weight?

According to Woman’s World magazine, people who ate potato chips and drank oolong tea absorbed only half the fat as those who did not have the tea.

Green tea, according to the magazine, can help a person feel full and have fewer cravings compared to those who drink water. Evidently compounds in the tea dull taste buds. Also green tea, experts say, controls blood sugar.

One of the best green teas and best weight loss tea I’ve ever had is the Rishi Green Oolong tea. I found the product at Whole Foods Market.

What exactly is Oolong tea? Some people call is Wu Long slimming tea with the wu meaning black and the lung meaning dragon. To make Oolong tea they process the leaves right after picking.

The box of Rishi Green Oolong tea contains 100 percent premium tealeaf powder in 12 sachets.

The first time I made the tea, I just filled up my water bottle with water and added the tea powder. Then I realized it was a bit too strong. Now I use one sachet with an entire pitcher of water.

I love it because it’s so easy to prepare the Green Oolong tea. I did not have to mess with tea bags, boiling water or being worried about whether or not the water was so hot it boiled away the antioxidants.

With the Rishi Green Oolong Tea, I can have a quick green iced tea.

The package says it contains 109 mg of polyphenols per serving. One sachet contains five calories and no sugar or protein or fat. It has 26 mg sodium.

The only ingredient is oolong tea leaves.

I did not know this, but evidently natural tea powder is one of the richest sources of flavonoid antioxidants.

For anyone who has ever been on the Almased fast, you know it’s important to drink vegetable broth with antioxidants to guard against free radicals. The tea, it seems to me, would have the same ability to prevent cancer and promote weight loss.

The Rishi Green Oolong Tea is also low in caffeine with just 3 mg of caffeine per serving versus 85 mg. in a cup of coffee. This is also great news for someone on the Body Type Diet who needs to avoid caffeine such as the T or Thyroid Types.

The weight loss tea has been cold milled with no added colors, sweeteners or sugars.

I love to add peppermint from my garden for a refreshing flavor.

The on the go Rishi tea has made my life a lot easier. The tea tastes great, but even better with my mint leaves.

In terms of nutrition and taste, I give the Rishi Green Oolong Tea 5 out of 5 stars. In terms of weight loss, I found sipping the Green Oolong Tea prevented me from overeating and not snacking in between meals. The weight loss tea was also refreshing after workouts.
