The city is in reasonable proximity from many other cities and even other states so you are sure to find something to please your interests. Head 60 miles west of Nashville to Montgomery County for a visit to the Dunbar Cave Natural Area. This 8 mile cave sits on 100 acres and also features hiking trails and a picnic area. Perhaps a visit to the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg is more suitable for your tastes. Lynchburg is located approcimatley 70 miles from Nashville. Visitors to the Distillery must be 21 years of age or older. During the visit guests are treated to tastings as well as a tour of the facility where you can see Jack Daniels finest being made before your eyes.
Loretta Lynn’s Dude Ranch is a favorite for the country music fans in the city. Located in the small town of Hurricane Mills, a trip to the Dude Ranch offers a chance to explore “The Coal Miner’s Daughter” history through a museum and tour of the grounds. A gift shop is available for souvenirs.
One could easily spend an entire weekend enjoying the great city of Chattanooga, located about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Nashville. If you can only stay for the day, the Chattanooga Aquarium is simply a must-visit attraction. Great for the entire family, the Aquarium has been named as one of the best in the U.S! 400,000 gallon tanks are filled with various aquatic wildlife, including sharks! Riverboat tours and an IMAX theater are also available. The Aquarium is huge so it is best to arrive early so you can enjoy all there is to do at the Aquarium.
Minutes from Chattanooga is Lookout Mountain, another perfect adventure for those who love the great outdoors. You will experience the beauty of the area as well as have the opportunity to see of the three top attractions in the area- Ruby Falls, Rock City, and the Incline Railway.
Atlanta, Georgia is just over 3 hours from Nashville, and offers anything you could possibly want to do! Come late for the fabulous, hot nightlife in Atlanta, or get their early to visit attractions such as the Atlanta Zoo and the many art galleries and museums. Atlanta is home to some of the best shopping around, with stores such as Saks Fifth Ave, Jimmy Choo, and more. Who can forget the fabulous food in Atlanta?
