Area Billiards Halls: Orlando, Florida

Webster’s New International Dictionary and Thesaurus defines billiards as “a game played with a cue and hard balls (billiards balls) on an oblong, cloth-covered table with cushioned edges.” Geesh! As they have so blandly described it, Webster managed to remove all excitement from the game in one sentence! Pool is NOT as boring as they have painted it.

The game of billiards, better known as pool in most circles, involves geometry, physics and concentration — some of the very things our parents and teachers begged us to learn and warned us we would use later in life. Yea, right! Afterall, what did our parents know about what we actually needed to study for future use. Turns out we weren’t as smart as we thought we were, huh? The game of pool has been around longer than there has been air conditioning in bars and shows no signs of nearing extinction despite the popularity of no limit hold ’em poker.

Most sports bars, taverns, and neighborhood hole-in-the-wall hangouts have at least one pool table. As with anything else, there are many opinions on where to play, who has the best table(s), and where to play for meeting the most attractive people. Here is an unbiased and diverse list of a few of the area’s best spots for playing billiards. Use it as a reference, don’t judge the list as a ranking and send me nasty messages.
