Fourteen young women were selected to vie to become America’s Next Top Model: Cycle 16 winner. Last week the number of fourteen hopefuls was cut to two as Hannah was eliminated, leaving Brittani and Molly as the two ANTM: Cycle 16 finalists.
Tonight’s finalist competition began for Brittani and Molly in an informal sit down interview with IMG executive Ivan Bart. Before Bart ended the interview, he reviewed both Brittani and Molly’s portfolios, kissed both ladies, and sent them on to next phase of the competition.
Jay Manuel greeted Brittani and Molly for the CoverGirl Lip Perfection lip color shoot. Jay supervised the photograph and commercial shoot, and Pierpaolo Ferrari was the photographer. Then it was on to the next to final phase of the competition before the runway fashion show.
Brittani and Molly were again photographed by Pierpaolo Ferrari, but this time for the Italian Vogue shoot. Brittani’s photography session was first, and a few hours later it was Molly’s time. Molly complained about once again being last, and had difficulty hiding her displeasure.
At last it was time for the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania fashion show. The runway fashion show took place in the Granada Palace, and was conducted in a salon style show where the models went from room to room modeling the Vivienne Westwood fashions.
Before the show began, a surprised Molly was greeted by her parents. Brittani’s mother was unable to come because she had recently undergone back surgery. Backstage, Brittani and Molly are reunited with Alexandra, Hannah and Kasia, and were told the three wouldl also take part in the runway fashion show. Also, ANTM: Cycle 15 winner, Ann Ward was introduced to the Cycle 16 models. Then it was time for the show to begin.
During the fashion show Brittani came out of character on the runway, laughing aloud, and hurt her ankle when she took a spill. Even with the falling mishap and consequently spraining her ankle, Brittani finished the show. Then, it was time to face the judges, Tyra, Andre Leon Talley, Nigel Barker and Jay Manuel, for the last time.
Tyra asked that Brittani and Molly be given more modern hairstyles and when they entered the room both were sporting short haircuts. The judges thought both girls photographed beautifully, but felt that Brittani photographed showing a wider variety of emotions. Brittani was chosen to be America’s Next Top Model: Cycle 16 winner.
As the winner of America’s Next Top Model: Cycle 16, Brittani will receive a contract with IMG, a fashion spread in Vogue Italia, along with an additional spread and cover of Beauty in Vogue, and a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl Cosmetics.
