American Idol Season Ten Result Show-Six to Five Contestants

American Idol’s season ten result show eliminated one American Idol contestant making it a top five competition. Last night’s performance had six American Idol contestant’s performing Carole King songs. Kenny Babyface Edmonds was their guest song performance mentor.

Last night Randy Jackson made a startling announcement, declaring James Durbin to be this year’s American Idol winner. James received a standing ovation to his amazing soft romantic rendition of, “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?” Scotty McCreery’s, “You’ve Got A Friend,” and Casey Abrams, “Hidey Hidey Hidey Ho,” also received standing ovations. Jacob Lusk sang, “Oh No, Not My Baby,” Lauren Alaina sang, “Where You Lead, I Will Follow,” and Haley Reinhart sang, “Beautiful.” The judges, Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler found it difficult to negatively critique any performance because they believed the American Idol contestants had great performances.

Tonight’s American Idol result show started off with Ryan Seacrest reporting many fans are going to be disappointed with the vote results. A film clip aired showed the six contestants celebrating Brit week in honor of the upcoming royal wedding by a party at the British Consulate. The top six American Idol contestants then took the stage and sang a fair medley of Carol King’s songs, “It Might As Well Rain Until September,” “Take Good Care Of My Baby,” “One Fine Day,” “Go Away Little Girl,” and, “It’s Too Late.”

A new Ford Focus commercial aired starring the six American Idol contestants. The theme music was, “Our House,” as the contestants drew a house and it’s contents with magic markers. Ryan Seacrest took time to ask the American Idol contestants several questions fans submitted.

Tonight’s musical guests were Bruno Mars and Crystal Bowersox. Crystal Bowersox was last year’s American Idol runner up. Crystal sang her song, “Ridin’ With The Radio.” Bruno Mars sang his hit, “The Lazy Song.” Bruno Mar’s official website www.brunomars.com

Haley Reinhart was called first on stage by Ryan Seacrest to hear Jimmy Lovine’s critique of the American Idol’s performances. Jimmy Lovine is the American Idol’s in house song coach and mentor. Haley was told she had to find who she is as a performer, but was declared safe. Scotty McCreery up next was told he’s got a subtlety to him and to hang tight for a moment. Lauren Alaina was told she only hears the negative and to hang on tight. Casey Abrams was told he’s a great musician but Jimmy didn’t like his dog growl. Casey had to wait for his results along with the others. James Durbin was told he’s believable when he sings a rock song with a melody and was declared safe. Jacob Lusk was told by Jimmy that his attire was wrong on performance night and is on banana peel status.

Lauren Alaina was told she was safe by Ryan Seacrest and Jacob Lusk, Casey Abrams, and Scotty McCreery were told they’re in the bottom three. Jacob Lusk and Scotty McCreery were told they’re safe. Casey Abrams, the raspy jazz singer who earlier was saved by the judge’s save after he was voted out in an earlier show was voted the bottom American Idol contestant and sent home. Casey Abrams ended the show by singing, “I put a spell on you.”
