American Idol Result Show-Top Three American Idols Selected by America’s Vote

Tonight’s American Idol result show announced the final three contestants. Last night on performance night the top four American Idol contestants, Scotty McCreery, James Durbin, Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart all performed two songs, one inspirational and the other out of Leiber & Stoller’s massive songbook. Lady Gaga was the guest mentor encouraging the four American Idol contestants to put life in their song performances.

James Durbin started last night’s performance singing, Journey’s, “Don’t Stop Believing,” with his second song choice, “Love Potion Number Nine.” Haley Reinhart’s inspirational song choice was, Michael Jackson’s, “Earth Song,” and her second song choice was, “I Who Have Nothing.” Scotty McCreery’s inspirational song was, Alan Jackson’s, “Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning?” and his second song was, “Young Blood.” Lauren Alaina sang, Martina McBride’s, “Do It Anyway,” and, “Trouble,” as her second song choice.

American Idol result show tonight started off with Ryan Seacrest announcing there were over seventy-two million votes. A video montage ran of last night’s Idol performances with the three judges, Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson impressed with the majority of last night’s performances.

Scotty McCreery and James Durbin took the stage tonight as a duo and played guitars performing the country song, “Start A Band.” A song originally done by Brad Paisley and Keith Urban. Haley Reinhart and Lauren Alaina followed them and sang, “Gunpowder and Lead,” by Miranda Lambert.

Ryan Seacrest took the stage announcing Lauren Alaina as the first American Idol contestant voted into the final top three.

Lady Gaga, this week’s guest mentor, performed via a taped concert video singing, “You & I,” as the American Idol contestants watched. Enrique Iglesias performed his newest song, “Dirty Dancer,” and his hit, “I Like It.”

The Ford Focus music video, American Idol’s main sponsor, had the four American Idol contestants drawing with neon lights at night before tracing a Ford Focus, to the song, “Fireflies.”

Jordin Sparks, American Idol’s season six winner, took the stage and performed her hit, “I Am Woman.” Jordin certainly has grown up into a woman, having lost weight since her last appearance, wearing a shimmery short black mini dress as she danced around, even giving Steven Tyler a kiss.

Steven Tyler’s latest video, “It Feels So Good,” was revealed. Having two musical talents as judges this year, American Idol incorporated their musical ventures into the shows.

Ryan Seacrest shockingly announced Haley Reinhart as the next top three contestant, the girls reigned while Scotty McCreery and James Durbin waited to hear the final announced spot. The top three American Idol contestants voted in by America are, Haley Reinhart, Scotty McCreery, and Lauren Alaina.

James Durbin, the heavy metal rocker was the American Idol contestant voted out and sent home. James was considered to be a front runner with strong performances. James is a young man diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and Tourette’s Syndrome, always throwing himself in the music. He received a standing ovation and Jennifer Lopez shed tears. James Durbin emotionally sang the show out with, “Maybe I’m Amazed,” by Paul McCartney.

The top three American Idol contestants will be going to their hometowns for celebratory visits. The American Idol tour concert tickets with the top eleven American Idol contestants will go on sale May 13, 2011.
