Within the past couple of months, I have discovered the joys of shopping at Aldi supermarkets. Among the Aldi private label products that I have come to embrace are their Great Gherkins Sweet Bread & Butter Slices pickles.
What drew me to these sweet pickles originally was the bright blue label that graces the jar, but after tasting them, I became a big fan and have since bought several more jars of them.

Taste / Flavor
Through the years, I have eaten several different brands of bread & butter slices pickles and Aldi’s Great Gherkins Sweet Bread & Butter Slices are definitely one of the best overall varieties I have eaten.
These pickle slices maintain a great balance of sweet and sour that some other brands do not offer. The flavor of these pickles is so appealing to me, that there are three jars of them in my kitchen pantry and another jar is in my refrigerator.
Sometimes, I even eat these pickles plain, which I seldom do with other brands of pickles. On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign these bread and butter slices a rating of 9.75.
Aldi’s Great Gherkins Sweet Bread & Butter Slices are packaged in a clear glass jar that is easy to open and it re – closes effectively.
The label and lid on these pickles are both a vibrant shade of blue that I find quite appealing. Interestingly, the only place where the name Aldi is printed on the container, is underneath the list of ingredients, where it is printed in small letters.
