One of the greatest scientific minds, Albert Einstein had a quote, ‘science without religion is lame and religion without science is blind’. It is inevitable that the two aspects of our understanding of existence be combined. The big bang theory states that all existence exploded from a single point and it occurred around 15 billion years ago. The book of Genesis, which has the support of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, claims that it took God six days to create the universe and that it happened around 6,000 ‘” 10,000 years ago.
After careful research and a little understanding, I have found that science and religion are two sides of the same coin. The six stages of the Book of Genesis correlate with the stages mentioned in the big bang theory. For example, after the big bang, the universe was covered in a dense fog and intense heat. Particles couldn’t form into atoms until things started to cool. Gen. 1:1-5 explains it as the creation of light, and light separating from darkness. In the big bang theory it is described as the period when light was able to break free as electrons bind to atomic nuclei, starting the formation of galaxies.
One problem that atheists have with organized religions are the human attributes and characteristics given to god. So I have created a term to refer to a supreme being without awakening social and cultural connotations; the Ultimate Perfect Power. The creator of the universe and all within it, could only be described as a force of energy because all existence is energy in motion when broken down to simplest form. The Ultimate Perfect Power is more likened to a ‘living will’ not a being with a will. So now lets take a step back and examine what could have caused the big bang?
In the book of John in the New Testament, the very first chapter and first verse explain, ‘In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God’. In the practical sense we understand that a word has three prominent forms; a thought, a sound, and a written form. One is the will, the next is the physical expression of the will, and the last is a written record of the will.
Science also has a theory called the Duality Particle Theory. This theory states that all existence simultaneously exhibit the properties of a particle and a wave. If all existence was created by an Ultimate Perfect Power, then it too would have that same property. It is then safe to say that the single point that all existence exploded from (according to the big bang theory) was god in the particle form.
We can even add that the sound or explosion (the ‘word’ according to the book of John) was the physical expression of that living will. The motions in existence that we have identified as gravity, electromagnetism, weak nuclear and strong nuclear forces, are all a result of that physical expression or big bang. That single point is now exhibiting the property of a wave. This is the only way that a supreme being could be omni-potent, omni-present, and omni-scient.
Now there is the issue of the 15 billion years that science acknowledges and the six days mentioned in the book of Genesis. In 2 Peter 3:8 a disciple states ‘a thousand years is as one day to God, and one day is as a thousand years’. Lets keep in mind that the level of understanding was still limited back then. The disciple would have been right on the money if he used the word billion instead of thousand because time is a subjective concept based on the perceiver’s connection to a particular time stream.
Scientifically speaking, if a set of twins are separated, one is sent to the International Space Station orbiting the planet and the other is kept on Earth, we will find that the Earth bound twin would have aged more than the other one. A more practical explanation is the dream state. Minutes can pass by in seconds and seconds can stretch into hours, because our conscious is separated from the time stream we share with others. The reason why time flies when we are having fun and drags when we are not is because of our conscious awareness of it.
The Ultimate Perfecft Power is not bound to a particular time stream. In its current ‘wave’ form it inhabits all time streams and levels of existence simultaneously and is therefore free of the time restrictions of any particular stream. So the billions of years it took for the universe to get where it is now could have been experienced as days for the Ultimate Perfect Power.
Keeping in line with the Dual Particle Theory, if we acknowledge the particle aspect as being active, and the wave aspect as being passive, we can answer alot of the issues atheists have with the existence of ‘god’. This line of thought would justify the sabbath day as a ‘sabbath era’, it would explain the existence of different gods or aspects of god, it would explain why bad things happen, the existence of evil, and many more contradictions in modern day religions.
I call this the Infinite Process theory. Scientific minds can now accept the existence of a ‘god’ and explain It’s properties. Religious minds can now be able to justify their beliefs with scientific doctrines. The prying atheists can now see the connection between what they know and what others believe. Science is no longer lame and religion is no longer blind.
